| Despite all the tentative thoughts on this, I can confirm that this meet is going to take place! A venue has been kindly organised by Andy2407. The date is SATURDAY 12th August - SUNDAY 13th August This should enable people from further afield to travel up in time. ![]() The venue is just north of Manchester in Bury (see map below). This site is relatively central and has good motorway access routes. ![]() The idea is to camp the night (or bring a caravan if you're inclined!). There's a pub within 100yds of the campsite as well! The campsite itself is very pleasant and there is good parking provision for the cars too! The Plan The plan is to arrive late morning at the campsite (about 10:30 or 11-ish), set up the tents before lunch, then go and have lunch in a pub/cafe. After this, an entertaining driving route is to follow for the next few hours of the afternoon. We should get back to the campsite late afternoon, at which point there is an optional Octy drivers vs Furby drivers raft building competition! After this, we set up the BBQ (either disposable or if people want we can bring along some 'proper' BBQ's). We enjoy the evening and then go for a few pints, in not particular order. ![]() The next morning we can do some further outdoor activities if we wish as there are some excellent facilities on hand. We can go for another drive around lunchtime followed by another pub lunch, although I would have thought that would be best determined on the day. The anticipated costs are £5 per head for the camping (which includes coin-operated showers, toilets, running water etc.). Breakfast can be provided for those who don’t want to cook for themselves for £4 a head although we will need to know numbers by August 9th. This is a very easy going event and while knowing numbers in advance is always preferable, thanks to the easy going nature of the campsite we can accept new additions to the list up to the 9th of August. ![]() Unfortunately, due to the blame culture we live in, we feel compelled to publish a disclaimer: Please note that neither Briskoda nor Burrs Activity Centre Limited can be held responsible for any loss or damage to your personal property or vehicles. Whilst the campsite is located in a country park, the surrounding areas are urban, and the local youths do occasionally hang around. The camp site will be patrolled by activity centre staff during the Saturday afternoon drive, and the gate to the car parking area locked on Saturday evening. However, the camping field and car parking area are not a fully secure compound, and as such care should be taken with valuables etc. Please also note that Burrs Activity Centre is in a Country Park with access to the general public. There will also be young children using the Activity Centre facilities, so PLEASE drive carefully and responsibly in this area. Some Photographs of the site: UPDATED LINK: Location Plan: http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m...hereisBury.jpg Part of the parking area, showing the proximity of the pub! http://www.briskoda.net/photoplog/file.php?n=144&w=o The campsite: http://www.briskoda.net/photoplog/file.php?n=145&w=o PLEASE VOTE AT THE TOP! ![]() Let's start a list! 1)yashicamat

| We don't do individual bookings for the bunkhouse. Someone would have to book it and underwrite the full cost, and then try to fill it. I did think about it, but suspect it would be a lot of hassle with getting committment and collecting payment etc. Maybe if this meet goes well we can look at having a winter meet in the bunkhouse. Tents are cheap enough these days, and for one night in August something like this (Decathlon) or this (Argos) would be fine. Asda have a few cheap and cheerful ones in too

| You've got to build your own raft. Only kidding, I'm sure we'll sort something out.
