| With great reluctance I am selling my wifes Octavia VRS due to the fact that we have had to change her car because of buying a German Shepherd puppy. Brief details about the car. Purchased new by us from Motorpoint in Derby in December 2004. It has covered just over 29500 miles and has been serviced 12 monthly with the last service being carried out December 07 by JBS auto in Chesterfield. It is MOT'd until December and taxed until the end of May. The car is in Excellent condition and has never had any accident damage or mechanical work carried out on it. It has been by far and away the best car that we have ever owned and if it wasn't for the new edition to the family I could of seen us happily owning it for years to come. It has all the usual Octavia features including these extras:
The bodywork is in superb condition as you will see in the photo's. The wheels also are in fantastic condition, only one has been slightly kerbed on the rim but I sanded it and touched the paint up and it is barely noticeable unless it is pointed out. Take a look at the photo's and see for yourself, in fact if it bothered us that much I would of changed it for the full size spare wheel that has never been out of the boot. I have had a look around the internet and haven't really seen a car of this age, spec and mileage to compare with it, so I have decided to advertise it at £6750. We live in Derby, any questions please don't hesitate to ask. Last edited by Carlosramdango; 03-05-2008 at 14:33. |

| Hi the car is full Uk Spec, but was imported by Motorpoint via a dealer in Malta. I believe that Malta is where Motorpoint get most of their Skoda's. I think that some of the earlier models that came into Motorpoint had 16" alloys and air con as opposed to 17" alloys and climatronic climate control. Ours is full Uk Spec with the latter, in fact having the parking sensors and ESP would have added an extra £800 to a VRS purchased from the main dealer, the only other difference was that our car only had 2 years warranty, I had to purchase the extra year. As it happens I should of saved our money as we never needed it and as it is just over 3 years old I can't see as it matters now. Carl. Last edited by Carlosramdango; 27-04-2008 at 22:47. |

| Thanks Delac. I think that I can take most of the credit for the cleanliness as I have lost count of how much time I spent keeping it clean and Shiny, however I would have to pass on your compliments to my wife who has been the main driver and it is down to her the physical condition of the car. She has got wet through loads of times having to park at the furthest reaches of any car park she left the car in. I have always been quite anal about parking and eventually passed that on to my wife. I suppose the pay off is there for all to see now. Carl. |

| Darn, I wish I could stretch my budget to 6k+. unfortunately I can't, so consider this a free bump! Does it being an import affect the insurance much? |

The car is a parallel import as opposed to a grey import, I have searched the internet and this is an example of the difference from What Car magazine. A: A parallel import has been brought in to the UK through a European dealership. There’s a good chance the car will have the same specification as a UK-sourced model, unlike a grey import. These are commonly brought from Japan, and can be significantly different from UK cars. A grey import can have lower residual values as a result of its specification differences, but you shouldn’t have to accept a lower value on a parallel car. Some buyers might be put off by the fact that the pre-delivery inspection was done by a European dealer (a sure sign of a parallel import) but plenty won’t Hope his helps. Carl. | |
