However, I have had a chat with the sales staff and they appear considerably more knowledgeable about the range. |

The service I've received there is excellent - never any arguments over what I would consider warranty Jobs. Sometimes when parts need to be ordered service are sometimes a bit slow at getting back to me to organise a day for getting the car in but with a little push they organise things to my satisfaction. I'd recommend this garage to any local Skoda owner. They also MOT'd my old '65 Anglia - very thorough! |

| Despite having friendly service staff & of coarse Nick (the Vrs man) I've given up on this dealer. When I was looking to order a Mk2 Octavia Vrs a year ago the information they had on the new car was 'quite limited'. Despite this they were willing to take an order & deposit from me - with no idea when the new car would be delivered! They also wouldn't commit to a future trade in price on my old car until the new car was delivered. Hardly fair. So instead I went to Robinson's in Norwich & ordered a Fabia Vrs instead & took delivery 3 days later. I got £1,000 more on the trade in than Chequered Flag offered me as a current trade in price when I was talking to them about the Mk2 Octavia I went to chequered flag back in 2002 to talk about trading in my 51 plate Octavia vRs for a new car & found that time too that the trade in was way too low & went to London for the best deal. I'm on Skoda number 5 now & they've missed out on two of those cars. It's all a shame because as I said at the start the support staff are great. |

| I recently purchased a new Octavia L & K from Chequered Flag in Attleborough. I must say that i cannot fault the service given to me by any of the sales staff at Chequered Flag. They were very attentive, and dealt with all my many question efficiently and politely. I would definitely deal with them again and would recommend them to anyone |

| I had my vRS serviced there at 20,000 miles. I had used ALS previously, but they were shut as they are rebuilding the showroom or something. Chequered Flag are my local dealer however I bought the car from Simpsons as it was 15% less than what Chequered Flag quoted me (no discount possible in Norfolk at all apparently). I should have heeded the warning sign. The car is on the Skoda fixed price servicing plan and basically it's a pain. The jobsworth on the service desk just kept telling me about how Skoda wouldn't let them do this and wouldn't let them do that. Firstly he said that if the service spanner wasn't showing the dash display Skoda wouldn't let him service it. Then he said the supplying dealer had screwed up because it should be on variable servicing (it shouldn't) and he made me phone Simpsons to check the car was on fixed or variable servicing. It was on Fixed (as it should be) and the Simpsons service people were utterly bemused that another Skoda dealer should be wrong on something so basic. Then if it wasn't explicitly listed in the service plan, they couldn't do it. eg. They could only change the brake pads if they were actively gouging chunks out of the brake disks. OK - next time I'll take it to a dealer where they will do it, even if I have to pay for it to be done myself as contrary to what Skoda UK must think, I don't want to have to take the car back to the dealership between services to have the brake linings renewed, or the tyres changed. If I was paying for it myself they would be suggesting that the brakes wouldn't last another 6 months and I ought to get them changed now. It's now idling rough and the fuel economy has gone to pot. And it stutters worse than ever now, so dear only knows what they did to it. Probably nothing as doubtless Skoda pay the dealerships buttons for the fixed price servicing. I don't expect much (it's a cheap car), but I do expect it to be better after a service than before. Back to ALS for some remedial work I think. Last edited by wja96; 19-08-2007 at 15:30. |
