| Record-breaking output of 494,127 cars (up 11.3%) • 492,111 cars delivered to customers (up +9%) • Profit before tax: Ł241.3 million (up +108%) The Škoda Auto group has just announced financial results which show that 2005 was the group’s most successful ever trading period. The figures, issued in accordance with the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) were made public at an annual press conference held in Mladá Boleslav on 23rd February 2006. The Škoda Auto Group made a pre-tax profit of Ł241.3m in 2005 (up 108% on 2004), while total revenues increased by 14.5% to Ł4.4 billion and turnover grew by 9.0%. Operating profit grew by 84.2% to Ł260.4m. Last year, Škoda Auto delivered almost half a million cars to its customers – a total of 492,111 units of the Fabia, Octavia, and Superb model ranges – an increase of 9% – despite a stagnating global market. The record figures have been achieved thanks to strong performances in all areas of the car market. Increasing demand for the award-winning Octavia and the arrival of exciting new models such as the Octavia estate and sporty vRS has driven sales upwards and contributed greatly to the record-breaking output of 494,127 cars. The best-selling model in 2005 was the Fabia with 236,698 cars delivered to customers (2004: 247,600 units). The Fabia was closely followed by the Octavia with 233,322 cars sold worldwide achieving a growth by 28.4% (2004: 181,683 units). The Škoda Superb has been sold to 22,091 customers (2004: 22,392). In Western Europe, Škoda sales increased by 14.8% to a total of 276,216 units. The most successful markets were Germany, Great Britain, and Spain. In Central and Eastern Europe (exclusive of the Czech Republic), Škoda Auto also saw a growth selling 185,713 cars. For the first time in history, Škoda became the market leader in Poland. Apart from the Czech Republic, Škoda continues to be number one in Slovakia, Bulgaria, and Bosnia and Herzegovina as well. Detlef Wittig, Chairman of the Škoda Auto Board of Management, outlined the company’s future development: "The year 2006 will be marked by the Roomster, which will be launched in individual markets from the middle of this year. In order to secure a continuous growth of the company in coming years, significant attention will be paid to further expanding and development of new foreign assemblies in Russia and China, in particular. We will also endeavour to increase productivity and efficiency of our company, and pursue continuation of our successful cost-saving programme."

| Interesting and mostly good news. However, how come fewer Fabia's were sold in 2005? is it because it is time for a new model? And just over 22K Superb's were sold. gotta ask, what is the point? |

| They've just released figures for the first half of 2006 now and sales for all models are up again, 12.4% overall.... Škoda Auto sold altogether 274,904 vehicles of the Fabia, Octavia and Superb model lines in 90 markets worldwide over the first half of 2006, thus achieving 12.4% growth year-on-year. The best-selling model line was the Octavia (Octavia and Octavia Tour, 136,902 vehicles, +21.4%), followed by the Fabia (126,450 vehicles worldwide, +4.2%) and the Superb (10,709 vehicles, +2.6%). A fourth model line appeared in the market earlier this year – the Škoda Roomster was launched in June, the first 843 Roomsters have already been delivered to customers and the company is going to launch the brand new vehicle in other European markets in the second half of this year. Customer order statistics have been showing very good market acceptance so far. Škoda supplied altogether 155,030 vehicles to customers in Western Europe over the first half of 2006 (10.3% growth). The most important factor of those attributable to the good result was a positive market trend in Germany, Spain and Belgium. The 19.2% growth to 50,615 vehicles in Germany has reinforced Germany's position of Škoda's largest market. Despite the overall slump of the market in Spain, Škoda's local sales have grown by 13.9% to 13,017 vehicles. Altogether 6,905 customers (+50.7%) bought Škoda vehicles in Belgium. The Czech Republic, i.e., the company's domestic market, saw a 6.1% decrease in demand for new vehicles over the reviewed period. Another factor affecting the new-vehicle market is the 12.6% increase in the number of imported used vehicles. Despite the difficult conditions, Škoda Auto has managed to defend its dominant market share with 31,954 vehicles in total (-1.6%). Pushing up its sales by 17.8% and continuing to increase its market share compared with the previous year, Škoda Auto sold 67,667 vehicles in the growing region of Central and Eastern Europe (the Czech Republic is not included). The most dynamic growth areas included the Ukraine (+89.4%), Russia (+79.9%), Romania (+40.9%) and in the Baltic countries. Škoda has also increased its sales in Asia and overseas, (20,253 vehicles in total from January until June 2006, +44%). The most successful markets are India (6,004 vehicles), Turkey (3,690 vehicles) and Egypt (2,566 vehicles).
