Does this clash with the GTI show at Bruntingthorpe? Might be worth considering the weekend either side. I'm in anyway. I'd be driving back along the Jurassic coast as well.

Ignore me - GTI show isn't until mid June. Carry on.

I just had a feeling "something" was on that weekend.

Well, we reccy'd the start of the Jurassic Coast meet yesterday, by taking a break out from the VAG meet and hurtling down to Exmouth. We decided this would be the start of the meet, with the actual congregation meeting at the Exeter Services, then we'll all hurtle down to Exmouth under my "guidance"

From there its up to Will to get maps off the internet and work out the best route to explore the coastline from there. Some of the cliffs should be quite impressive. About a year ago, 3 mental patients checked themselves out of a low category hospital they were in, and threw themselves off together. splat!

Will. As I'm just a LITTLE underworked at the moment, I shall also be seeing the best routes across the coast. Shall print off a few maps as well.

OK, I'm doing this now. So Will, you might want to print off some of my drivel below and keep the links handy. Here we go

http://www.streetmap.co.uk/newmap.sr...00500&ay=81500

Start at arrow, which is Exmouth.
Head to Budleigh Salterton for seafront stop - should be good photo opportunities
Head to Sidmouth, possible detour via Otterton for possible cliff views (need zoom in)
From there, go toward Seaton, stop off at Beer ( ) Branscombe Head should be nice
Photo opportunities on Seaton seafront?
A3052 to Lyme Regis - again seafront shots, maybe some cliffs.
Head toward Bridport - detours possible to Charmouth, or Seatown looks better
Then down toward West Bay (skip Bridport, it's inland)

http://www.streetmap.co.uk/newmap.sr...00500&ay=81500

From West Bay I propose:
Head straight to Chesil Beach, couple of stops showing how size of pebbles get bigger the closer you get to Portland Bill. Final stop in West Bay (BIG pebbles )
Then to end of Portland Bill
Something in and around Weymouth?
West Lulworth looks next nicest place to go.

http://www.streetmap.co.uk/newmap.sr...00500&ay=81500

Not sure on the next step - In and around Swanage perhaps? Places like Worth Matrevers, Tyneham and Studland look good.

On a bit more SERIOUS note Will (doesn't happen often) I would keep stops to a minimum for organisational / convoy problems. I would perhaps only make 5 or 6 stops on the whole route. Probably just the key areas - check out websites for places enroute to see if you can get an idea of scenery, etc before committing. I would not bother with 50% / 60% of all my suggestions - epecially if it gets well subscribed. Also, FIND A PUB! Or two depending on how late we'll be around the Poole area.

There's load on the seafront in Exmouth. Best to do a "hotel" in "Exmouth" search. The seafront ones are pretty much of a muchness, but all should be fine.
