Car: Silver Fabia (215BHP / 344lbs/ft)
Default April special offer

Forge motorsport have developed this diaphragm valve (FMDVOPT) for the fastest response, a diaphragm that will not spilt, an adjustable spring preload to fine tune the valve to the engine & a multi-position vacuum connector to ease fitment. You can have either a polished finish or a Black finish along with a 20% discount of retail price with free delivery UK only, making total cost £92.99.

What is the difference between this and a dump valve?

And would this make any difference on a Fabia vRS?

IIRC Fabia doesn't have a dump valve...I stand to be corrected though.

Again IIRC, the Optimus is like the standard diverter valve on the 1.8t which uses a diaphragm. All aftermarkets dv use a piston. Apparently a diaphragm is quicker reacting but not very reliable. This one also has a varialbe spring so you can adjust to suit boost.

Yes, the diaphram response is much quicker & this unit as a polymer diaphram for reliablity. Only available for petrol models.

Has anyone done a review on this? Also i heard VAG COM can be used to tune the setting for best results, i have VAG COM but would like to know how to use it to get best results? I'm very interested in one especially at this price but want to know it would be an improvement on my 007P

The 007P is good but will start to stick & will require cleaning, but as for the diaphragm valves they will always react quicker but were prone to failure. This is why forge developed the polymer diaphragm for longer life, hope this helps.

Log block 115 which shows requested and actual boost, try to get the two as close together as possible by releasing or stiffening the spring in the DV.

Thanks Gary, i'll do a log of mine with the 007p on and see how it is doing now, then decide whether to get the Optimus.
