Default K04 Upgrades!!

Fancy 280bhp from your 'tavia? At Star Performance we offer a comprehensive range of tuning options for your 20 valve turbo car. Prices range from £999 to £2950 depending on the performance required.
Our K04 equipped Octavia (as displayed on the Skoda stand at the Scottish Motorshow) made a sound 265bhp. This conversion completely transforms the car and turns it into a real flying machine. Recently we performed another K04 upgrade on a Leon Cupra and with the addition of a front mounted intercooler the car made a whopping 278bhp @ 6180rpm and 263lbft of torque. Please contact us for further info.

This maybe being picky, but you may want to take a closer look at your "banner" style add...me thinks something is missing

Jim,

Any updates on the APR Stage III?

Guessing it can't be far away...a little bit of me hopes my turbo is breaking up as I type The other half that nees to eat and have a roof over my head isn't.

That said the k04 is a sweet upgrade. I know the difference on the street between mine on the 98 (k03s) and the k04 program.

Nick, as you're already Jabba'd I'd ask them for a price to adjust your map. There's a guy on SCN/mkivs that sells the turbo's for around £200-250, you can fit it yourself or get your usual mechanic to do it.

Eddy I wish I had such a thing as a "usual mechanic". How tricky is it to fit - is there fabrication etc. required?

Not a problem - the car would need a custom map to get the best possible performance, feel free to call or drop us a mail for further info.

I'm still a little confused by this.....does the Octy RS have the K03S?

If not is there any benefit of changing to one?

Also there are a couple of K04.....one that fits directly to the manifold and one from the TT (which doesn't fit).

Now is this first K04 the same one that AmD use to do/still do? Originally it was said to give 230bhp.

Just interested and want some clarification as I'm wondering what to do next.

It's a straight swap of the turbo and TIP, I personally wouldn't do it myself but by all accounts it's not tricky. A guy on mkivs had his VW dealer fit it for £200 so an independant should be less.

Tsk!

Octy RS = K03S
Octy 1.8T (AGU engine not DBW) = K03
K04 should be good for 260 I would have thought... Leeboy would be the man. I don't know about variants of it.

Good stuff. Thanks. Perhaps we'd better stop discussing self-fitting in these nice gentlemen's forum though ...

The K04 we use is a hybrid turbo modified to our own spec.

Check out this website for the spec and info of one of our customers cars (Seat Leon Cupra K04)

And the chance to drive in Scotlands fine highlands is to me a Unique Selling Point all on it's own

Any chance of an RS6 demo run to Skye?

K04 does make a difference, Paul (red baron) with KO4 and APR program to match kind of leaves me behind...very tempting from £999

Here's the dyno graph from my car that made 278BHP at 1.2 BAR of boost:

The actual intake temp was 46 degrees, so should make more power if we can get that down a bit! Here's a pic Jim took of my car being worked on, having the Nitrous Express intercooler halo kit fitted!

Now that's what I call a cooling system. Coming from the steel industry you need some serious kit to impress me!

What mods do you have to hit 278 on a K04?
