Not a bad price really.

Would just depend on reliablilty.
Kinda hard to decide.
Spend 12k (ish) on a new one, or buy a nearly new, year or 2 old, for say 8500-9k, and spend the rest on the upgrade.

that upgrade will be as reliable as you get tbh,
the map is not as harsh as some on the market which is why the torque sits at 310 lb/ft and the BHP at 210, with that kit on your car it could happily produce far more lb/ft and a fair few more ponies (Which it has on Brians Fabia) but Jim/Brian will ensure your car will be super reliable and have plenty poke,

Top guys to deal with, absolutly no pressure to buy anything (Infact Jim has talked me OUT of a few things )and will create the right package for you, worth your while giving them a phone, and remember to quote Briskoda

Many thanks for the reply.
At the moment i've got an Impreza, but it's about to go up for sale, and the Fabia is next on the hitlist.

Will definately speak to Star when i pick one up.
Thanks again.

One more thing, i couldnt see the upgade on the Star website, does anyone know what's all involved ? IE, parts fitted/changed, as i'm presuming it's more than a simple remap. lol

Also decent coffee and an X-box to play with while they're working on your car

You'll need an upgrade clutch though which I dont think is included in the price.

Std injectors and clutch. It has been tuned for them, the car has put out over 240bhp on the dyno but as is said it's tuned for std clutch and injectors.
Current hybrid turbo is 17/20 though can be 17/22.

Iam suprised they can get 240bhp on the pd130 injectors, btw pd130 and pd150 injectors are the same.

That would be fun if it were true.

I'd like to know more about the type of BMC fitted to this car as I'm looking to go down thr same route. It's obviously been on a while now, and I've heard no horror stories about the MAF going.

Why would the MAF go on one of these compared to any other setup? Ive known BMC on several fabia RS's and they have all been fine, albeit not worth the cash and the gains next to nothing over a PD160 and free flow filter (which is minimal as it is). increases engine aggriculturalness (is that a word?) and vibrates like hell.

Do you know which model is applicable to the fabia? I can't make head nor tail of the BMC website. I still want to do it, if only because my airbox is a little "knackered" and it would be nice to free up some room and have a different intake.

I never accused BMCs of being MAF breakers either - Just pointed out that the (now ex) Star car has had one for some time and had no issues. That's a good thing, unlike the K&N cone filters which apparently do harm the MAF.

I would like to be able to mount the BMC right up on the T.I.P, using the strut brace to attach it - Would probably have to cut & shut the MAF wiring too as it would need to go between TIP and BMC. From there I can easily run a flexible hose to where my current PD160 pipe sticks out.
