My fuel cap has decided it will not click back and lock, has anyone else had this happen to them and if so what did they do.

Pretty common Steve.

If you search I'm sure you'll come across the pictures I've posted on the Skoda fix for it.

Funny you should mention theft of fuel.

Friend in the force says its happening a lot over the last week or so, but certain people arent that popular at the moment so are trying to keep it quiet to keep the public calm.

Rioting on the streets anyone?

yes ive heard lots of stories of it over the past couple of months, also heard this week of home heating fuel being stolen on an industrial scale too.

I know a lockable cap isnt gonna stop them in their tracks (ive had to break many off in my time when drivers have lost their keys for the cap) but it will slow them down slightly and hopefully long enough to be noticed.
