Default Mod no1 Sun-Glasses Holder

Ok, this is my first mod and I completed it on the sunniest day of the year.

I bought a VAG sun glasses holder for approx £11 but it only comes in beige or light grey, obviously my Fabia has black headlining so I had to spray it to match, first removing the chrome trim and padded lining.

I sprayed it with Halfords satin Black and I think it matches the car, and looks standard.

I has the standard VW/Audi glide up action and fits the original aperture perfectly. My sun-glasses are a tight fit, but it keeps them clean and safe.

Total cost £14 - total time taken 1 hour (allowed 1 day to dry)

Quite difficult to get pictures of it though.

Nice one Des !

I really miss the sunglass holder that I had in the Laguna, so I might follow suit...

Part no is 1j0 857 465 y20 or it could be WAB/03 - 278612. There are two numbers on the box.

Bought mine from VAGParts.

Thanx Des. I assume it bolts into the holes left behind when the grab handle is removed?

Yes, but use the original screws from your grab handle. The chrome catch and carpet sytlee lining and needs to be removed for painting but it is very sticky so be careful when re-applying it.

Des, when fitting this, did you clip the two parts back together first then screw them on, or did you screw it on then clip the lid onto the base?

Cheers

Trial the fitting before you paint it, it might save any possible problems.

Everything is re-fitted, the lining and the chrome catch then I screwed it in position.

Default Ah yes the sunglasses holder

I did this mod a while ago; but on my Octy so no problems with colour etc and yes it does just screw straight into the grab handle, but

1). Almost impossible to use safely when driving

2). I bought mine off eBay for £27 !!!! My neighbour who also has an Octy asked me to get one for her so I asked at the service desk of the local dealer who told me £11.27 + VAT

STOP LAUGHING AT THE BACK!!
