quick polish wax question

hi everyone does it improve the overall finish of the paintwork if the polish is left on the car for a while (not 2 long) before removing? my car comes up a treat but wondered if i left it on (autoglym super resin) the finish might be improved further many thanks

na, not really any need with polish.

But as for wax, that does need curing, usually allow it 15 minutes then buff off.

Polish is not wax, wax is not polish

Wax should be applied after polish, for a long lasting shine.

My general advice with regard to polish or waxes would be to do whatever it says on the tin. Some work better if left for a while - others maybe not.

But as mentioned, the most important thing is to understand the difference between polish and wax.

cheers everyone for your help i never understood what the difference was to be honest between the two lol...i am wanting to get the full auto gym range to make the car look stunning what should i get from this range i have the paint renovator, super resin polish, tar remover etc etc cheers thanks

autoglym dont really make a good hard wax apart from the high definition which is £35

get some collinite 476s off ebay for £16... seems expensive but it lasts AGES!

SRP (Super Resin) followed by EGP (Extra Gloss Protection) leaves a very nice finish

Try looking outside of the box mate and away from AG and you will find IMHO a better range of products..........

I find English wax to be just as good as Polish wax...

Some of the Autoglym range is very good, like the SRP, EGP, Glass Polish and their Instant Tar Remover but I would have to agree with Baker21 that there are loads of other brands that sell better products are around the same price.
I found this out when I started looking for alternatives and stumbled across Meguiars products. Don't get me wrong they also have good and bad products but shows what else there is out there in the same price bracket.

i use mainly AG products and get some stunning effects. Started using AG when i bought my car last year and was recommended by many members on here to use AG

The Super Resin and Ultra Deep Shine polishes are brilliant I find, as well as the glass polish and fast glass.

However I am yet to use a decent hardwearing and well priced wax made by AG hence why I use Collinite 476s

I think for use without a PC/UDM etc, then AG products seem to give great results.

But if/when i get my G220, i'll be experimenting with other products rather than AG.

I've only used AG and Meguiars until now but think i will have to explore other options. Keep meaning to clay the car as there are some scratches and marks I would very much like to get out. Haven't been brave enough yet though! think i might ruin it!

Have been looking at local car valeters but cant sem to find anyone that will clay it.
