Question VRS Floor Mats

I am two weeks into my VRS ownership, everything is going great, however I am concerned about the wear and tear to the floor mats. I would like to keep the origianals in good condition, but don't want to buy a different set of mats as I like the VRS logo on them. Is anyone else in the same boat?, What I waas thinking about was either a set of those plastic transparent mats over the top of the originals (not too keen on that) or alternatively buying some mats that i could cut to a smaller size, so protecting the central area of the mats, where most of the scuffing/ wear and tear happens. Any thoughts?

They do wear a lot and the light piping is a nightmare to keep clean. I bought a new set after 8k miles

A set of VRS mats? I suppose buying another set from a Skoda Dealer would be another option. Do they sell the VRS mats/ know of anybody that does? I'm sure they're not cheap either way...

That's not bad! I was expecting them to be around the 20-25 each mark, I'll have to put them on my Christmas list...

Hey, at least they're available individually! Normally the driver's mat wears much faster then the rest. If it's only £15 for 1 mat who cares?!!!

Mind you, 8000 miles out of a mat is rubbish, I got 40,000 out of my last set from Autostyle, think they were about £70 for a set of 4.

I must admit that there wasnt really any major wear after 8k on it its just that i want it to be perfect! The only wear that could be seen was around the clutch and the piping had started to fray a bit. My new one is wearing much better i dont know why.

I think I'll just buy an extra pair of front mats, they're the ones that will take the most abuse. I was pleasantyl surprised to see that all the mats have the twist clips holding them in place, easily pleased eh?!?!

My Skoda dealer says they can only be bought as a set of 4.
Do you have a part number for the individual mats ? or has any one seen them on the internet ?

Thanks for your help. My dealer said when he contacted Skoda he was given the wrong info. He checked using the above numbers and found they had 6 in stock! Now 5 because I have ordered one!

Dealers sell original fit rubber mats full set £30 and the 1/2" lip is good at collecting water, gravel etc. My orginal mats are in the loft safe and sound.
