Live chat room?

Hi everyone

Someone in the introduce yourself section sugested that I post in here, I don't know if anyone has suggested it before or if its not technically possible but a live chat room would be a good laugh. What do you think?

It's the problem with so many people about at different times, really. And live chat is (or can be) quite strenuous on servers.

A few people normally start group MSN conversations though!

iirc There used to be a live chat room a couple of years ago but it was rarely used.

There was #briskoda.net on nixhelp IRC but it's no longer up and running.

IRC is a bit nerdy for a lot of people though , and quite a different prospect from a simple live chat button that you can click on on the home page.

FWIW I think the biggest problem with a live chat section would be keeping things civilised. Some people do get rather annoyed with each other at times , and I can see quite a bit of abuse ending up in a live chat room.

I have a small irc server setup in the office, it was going to be used for something else but it never materialised.

irc.emcd.co.uk port 6667 there is a #briskoda channel i just setup and a web client at CGI:IRC. I have no idea how many users it will support its only an old HP server with dual PII 400's

You can use it if you want to.. but i cant see it taking off

I'll idle there for a bit.

There is also a rather annoying trivia bot in #trivia that has some really hard questions

Um sounds cool but what is IRC? Nevermind , I'll look it up on Wikipedia as I wont be about till later in the week, thats for the replys though :0)
