More specific searching?

A search for 'remap' currently generates ~200 threads, if I search for remap and something else, with or without the AND, it doesn't really narrow things down, and I don't really have the time to read all 200 before I post a question.

Am I doing something wrong, if not then can the search be tweaked so that results contain all search terms. I have seen this work on other forums and it helps to cut down on repeated questions on the same theme.

It uses plain text search, for example fabia remap generates 190.

fabia vrs remap generate 164

fabia vrs apr generates 131

But if you select advanced search and filter just on fabia and tuners sections it tumbles even more.

I have looked at using an external search tool, but nothing is working as I want it at the moment...unless anybody wants to give me a google appliance or suggestions...
