Hi

I would like to be a moderator on this fine site, and help in keeping it the well oiled, friendly, and supremely helpful machine that is Briskoda running smoothly. I run a site locally on a much lesser scale, but the principles are basically the same. I am around in the daytime hours, while most mods are unable to get on the site due to work, I am about in an evening, and at night too - I have not much better to do if I'm honest. I have been on the site for 3 years, and while my early posts, and maybe the odd recent one have not been "model" posts, given the job of moderator I would fall in line immediately. I have been a member for 3 years, I'm a huge fabia enthusiast, and I'm yours if you want me - , either as a "global" mod, or even just in the fabia section.

The main reason I'd like to volunteer my services, is because I, like others would like to give something back to the site that I have learnt and gained so much from.

I would like to volunteer my services. I have been a member for around three years though my post count is not high, I tend to frequent the technical forums and give advice there.

One thing against me is that I don't own a Skoda, so why did I join a Skoda forum?, the original answer was to help Skoda owners gain a greater understanding of their cars, save them some money or simply save them time by trying to diagnose the cause of the problem. Since them I have found it a nice place to be and have stuck around. I do drive Skodas on a regular basis and have done since the rear engined ones of the 1980s, this I feel will give me a non bias and objectivity in the technical forums.

Looking at the previous posts in this thread there are peolple who have applied that I consider to be some of the main lynch pins of the site, to whom I wish the best of luck.

Thank you for your consideration.

(it's nice to see Mr.Grumpy happy)

For some reason I doubt I will be picked lol

For a start off, I can only think of one female mod, and I would like to even out the balance I read the site on a regular basis (sneakily at work, and then at home!) I try to get involved as much as I can in activities and feel I know a fair few of the regular posters on here so know when they are taking the p

I admit I have been involved in a few of the 'debates' on here in the past (but who hasn't?) Thing is, I now seem to have developed a restraint! I don't get involved in any disputes anymore and haven't for a long while. Infact I find them quite petty. I would rather people just got on with each other. And if anyone wanted to flame me for modding, well, they can shove it up their bee-hind

I am a Skoda geek, what more do you want? hehe!

Oh, and I'd like a change from being green

Not something to volunteer for lightly, but I've given it some thought and would welcome the opportunity to put something back into a site that has given me so much, and to support the great work that Colin and his existing team of Moderators do.

I've been around for over 3 years now, and spend plenty of time on here. I went to my first meet when my first Skoda had 500 miles on the clock, and have been to many more since - Blackpool, C&F, Warrington, N Yorks, Evo Triangle, Weston and of course the 2007 Prague trip amongst others. I have also organised the two Burrs BBQ / camping meets, and (with Mr Grumpy and others) set up the regular Lancs/Yorks meet at the Turnpike (now moved to the Malthouse).

I've owned 3 Skodas in my time on here - both vRS and non-vRS Octys and a Felly - and I occasionally manage to blag a drive in SWMBO's Fabia vRS.

I ran the first mini Group Buy on Aquapel after discovering it online, and have participated in several others. I've used the site to sell a car, and traded with other members to buy / sell various other items.

I've produced a technical guide (Octy II headlight change) and believe I have a good feel for the structue of the site and a good memory for what has been posted before (and useful external links), allowing me to point newer members in the right direction when they need help.

Happy to help in any way I can - whether that be general tidying up / dealing with spam etc - or in a particular section. I strongly believe we should develop as a community with all that brings - something much more than just a car forum.

Oh - and I don't like Marmite.

I would most certainly not like to put myself forward as I prefer to stick to moderating my own posts (when sober enough to do so).

I'd just like to wish the applicants the best of luck and remind them of what a difficult job it can be sometimes, Flak Jackets anyone?. I would also like to commend Col D on this idea as an expanding forum with so many members obviously needs more moderators as time goes on.

I hope the successful applicants are chosen well, as the selection process will also be a difficult task to undertake. I hope the "newbies" can contribute to maintaining the forum's often excellent spirit.

Well the job is not over. The observant will see a new column on the forum listing page, this is for forums that we do not have a clear idea on who would be best, or nobody from that forum has stepped up.

Those who posted here, I'm still working on this, but need some food. A chicken salad box is all I've had, give or take some twix's.

Please please do think about it and post again where / what interests you, this way you'll get something out of it and not have to read uninteresting stuff.
