Default Site Glitches??

I've tried posting a couple of things this morning and the 'smilies' don't appear to work (unless you use the abreviated keys) and I also tried to wrap quotes around some text which also failed. There may be other stuff but thought it best reported.

Thank you, Kind Sir, for the flowers I'll put them in water straight away.

My was because I'd noticed a couple of glitches over the last couple of days (even asking if others had changed any settings) but all seems OK now

For me, smilie "click on" icons haven't worked for ages and still don't, but if you know the shortcut keyboard letters, they work fine. For anyone who doesn't know the keyboard equivalent, then clicking on [More] at the foot of the icon panel brings up a list, at least for me. (Working on IE7 BTW.)

Regards
Mo

I still have loads of glitches on the site.... I still cannot used the Advanced post screen , or the Private message screen , or start a new thread (probably because it uses the advanced screen to do so). I always get the same message , something on the lines that my 'message is too short please insert more than two characters' into the box where the post is meant to go - this happens even ive I've posted 10 lines of text. Does anyone know why this is? I have no problem in any other forum I am a member of , just Briskoda. The 'Quick Reply' box works fine , which is just as well , as its the only way I have of interacting on the site!!

Interesting - Earlier to-day I tried a search for "methanol", found nothing relevant and assumed I couldn't spell. I then started a new thread in Ask a Tech and Mr. Fish kindly pointed me to another thread with "methanol" in the title. I tried another search and found both.

Okay , not only can I not Edit my posts , or post using the advanced method , or start a new thread , Ive just found out that I cannot update my signature either , does anyone know what is causing this , as it seems it is just me , the problem must be at my end. Im on an old PC running W98 and AOL v8.0 (IE5) on a dial up connection - all other forums I frequent are fine though , I'm only having problems with Briskoda.

Any suggestions???

Hi. I can't really help. I've just edited my signature to give a weather report and it has worked and I can use the advanced reply option. I notice there isn't an edit button in this section for some reason, though the edit buttons in other sections work for me.

If it is your computer, I have heard it suggested that it might help to clear all the Briskoda cookies on your computer. I'm not sure where they are on Win98; a search on your computer for cookies will show where they are. I think that might help if a cookie is directing you to a version of Briskoda that isn't up to date or something like that. Might be worth a try.

Best
Mo

Good ho How strange though! Your new laptop must have seen the fate of your old computer and decided it had better behave itself, or else...
