| Just a bit of an idle query - basically because I'm unlikely to do anything - but has anyone got experience of the 1.9TDi engine with both 115bhp and 130bhp outputs? I'm getting itchy fingers about changing, and reckon there are/will be some good deals on late cars, now they've stopped making them. Sadly, the new model will be way too many spondoolics for me .Given my typical journeys, I certainly want to avoid a DPF model. So I'm starting to think about changing from a TDi130 to a Tdi115. Outright speed will not be so good (like that's a big problem these days ), but the question is... with torque down from 210 to 184 lb/ft - in the real world, how noticeable is that? (manual gearbox and I don't tow anything). No doubt I would miss the extra oomph and also the toys (or are there 115bhp Elegances about?) Yep, I know all about the 'never buy another VAG again' reasoning, but all avenues should be explored first. So objective comments from anyone with comparison experience - or experience of the 115 engine - will be greatly appreciated. PS - just found an unusually late registered 2006 06 plate 130 Elegance on Autotrader (Alex Lawrie in Liverpool), but at 18k miles they seem to be pricing it as if it were the facelifted 140 2.0 model, at £13995 ![]()

| Let the dealer sit on the 130PS car for a couple of months, then offer him £11k for it - no trade in. If you really want an old Superb, given the model replacement position, present economic situation and the cost of fuel, now is the time. rotodiesel. |

| i think basically the same applies to the octavia diesels .think it was the 105bhp and the 130bhp when i drove those vehicles.......105 was the basic ambiente and the 130 was the l+k estate.....certainly a lot more oooompf coupled with a 6speed box compared to the 5speed on the ambiente.....so i would think same applies to the superb...given its size i would go for the 130bhp unless you want to sip fuel and therefore the 115bhp might be the better choice......but dont write off the 140bhp superb...ive had mine a year now and its been fine performance wise and ecconomy wise.....all it needs is an occasional blast on motorway for 10mins and touchwood the dpf wont give you any grief |
