Default 24 Hrs of Fun

Just spent 24 hrs and 478 miles in a Superb 1.9 Elegance auto,It was one of the latest spec's with leather and Sat Nav,It took a while to get used to the soft suspension coming from a sports equipped Octavia. After a few miles you tend to slip into cruise mode, and glide round corners in comfort. The engine seemed to be powerfull and able to cope with the Auto, Just can't help thinking that the 2.5Tdi would be better, must try and get a go in one Over the 478 miles i got 44mpg which I thought was good, considering their was a lot off motorway speed miles 70 mph

Just off topic for a moment, Big respect to the person in the Golf R32 travelling London bound on the M4 this Morning just past Swindon, must have been trying to max his golf out, got to have been going close to 150mph

It is only when you have travelled some miles on the motorway, that you can appreciate the comfort of the car and seats, big soft and supportive all at the same time, the well laid out dash, the nice touch of the cateye light that glow red so your eyes don't have to change so much from looking out to looking at the dash.

The Sat Nav, I was really impressed with the way it worked, only really getting confused once, at Benfleet on the A13, where their are 5 roundabout on 1 big roundabout, (like the magic roundabout at Swindon).
I was impressed that it took me direct to a friends farm in the deepest Cotswolds, finding the short cuts the locals use to go "cross country"ie lanes with grass in the middle of them .

After that little trip around it was a shame to give it Back I don't know what would have happened if it had been a 2.5 Tdi another change of car

Hope i've not rambled on to long To all the Superb Elegance owners out there I know your secret

Try the 2.5. You will be surprised at the additional mid range punch that makes overtaking easy.

Why would I go from a luxury sofa to a shoe box?

If the Merc SL doesnt come off, then it may well be another Superb, but Elegance and auto.
