| I took my 55 plate 1.9 to my local dealer three times as there was a knocking noise coming from the front wheels - I posted about this here some months back - but the dealer failed to identify any fault. I took the car to the garage where I purchased it (non skoda) for a service and they identified the fault (bushes knackered or something) and pointed out that both front tyres had worn out on the outside edges and needed replacing. These tyres have done about 8-10000 miles and should be fine. The point is it is due to Skodas failiure to identify and rectify the fault that the tyres are damaged. I would hope Skoda pay for the replacement tyres or al least make some contribution to the replacement cost. Any opinions? |

| I wouldn't hold out any hope when contacting Skoda Customer Service as they will tell you it's nothing to do with them and it will be up to the dealer who missed it to decide. It would be a good idea to have the dates when the car was checked for the faults and the worn or faulty bushes would have diagnosed by the dealer now. You would have to prove that this caused the excessive wear and that it wasn't like this the last time they looked at the car. |

| I had similar problems with a VW dealer when I owned my Bora, basically VW didn't identify the fault and then an independent garage did, so I went back to VW and explained the situation and the costs involved and basically got a free service out of them..........as VRStu said 'nothing ventrued'.......

| Either way, get used to having those suspension bushes replaced...it's a common fault.
