my uncle just got a brand new Superb to use as a Taxi he put it through its Taxi MOT and on his first night out in it he suffered a blowout, is this a common fault in the superb or was it just bad luck,
who is to blame

dealer for not checking it,

Could be any number of reasons this could have happened, only a few of which would have been spotted even by a trained tyre fitter/inspector

Hit a kerb, or pothole?

Being honest, its hardly a Superb only issue.

If no physical damage cause, then probably a faulty tyre.
