Have a look at the 2010 road tax figure for the 130 PD Superb with an autobox - then compare the same figure for the manual.

Road tax - Parker's

PD130 Auto Band J £270
PD130 Man Band G £155

There are going to be some dirt cheap autos around soon - not that I would want one.

I can't say I agree with the proposals in the Budget for Tax on cars - but I will certainly KEEP the auto box even though the tax will probably be half as much again. I still love the auto and it's easier to drive especially if you suffer from Arthur ITIS.

I think for the future the DSG bay be the saviour, I'm not 100% sure but I believe it is a fair bit lower than a tip/auto.

What does 'detailing' actually mean? Is is just doing a proper clean/polish or am I insulting detailers everywhere? Are there thing you do that require specialist skills or equipment?
Just wondering....

Detailing is a new form of valeting really but taking it to a higher level, usually involving paint correction using a Machine Polisher............

PM me for more information if you like.......

IIRC ALL 100's had slush boxes fitted..
Mine's a manual (PD130).

The car is being picked up in April to make the most of the tax.

Are these things nice to drive then? By looks of it, you are all happy Superb owners. What have you found to be the best tyres on the standard wheels? At the moment I think it has Continental.

I parked next to a limited edition 100 the other day in black, it looked stunning especially as it was in an indoor car park with the floresent lights on it. The inside was spot on too, it looks more like a limo than a Skoda.

I get that as well - I never knew so many people used Photobucket until I moved to my current job. Most of the photo sites are banned from my work, so if I see an interesting thread with pics, I have to remember to look again when I get home. Autotrader is one that I can see okay from work

I've noticed that the majority of Edition 100's seem to be fairly low mileage. I would have thought a lot of newer diesel Superbs would be company cars, so would expect 20k per year plus.

Mine's done 41500 now, so I'm averaging around 16k per year. Would be higher, though I now take an old Saab 9000 when I'm on nights (not too keen on leaving the Edition 100 on the street in the centre of Sheffield surrounded by 4 night clubs ) I've clocked up 2500 miles in the Saab already that would have otherwise gone onto the Superb. I'm keeping 1100 miles per month off the Superb.

Is it right that the ed 100 has Bose speakers installed as standard, or are they an extra?
