Default Locked out!

Can anyone help me with a locked drivers door my Superb 1.8T (2002) ?

The drivers door will not open either with the handle or inside lever
I think the cable has come off the lever or is caught up - as there is no resistance when operating (the lever)?

I have tried using the key manually also - no joy
The 'button' is up like the door should be unlocked!

All other doors are OK

Only one thing to do, get the door card off and have a look.

You may have fun trying to get the doorcard off the car with the door closed... i.e. I don't think you can. Even if you do get the doorcard off, you can't access the lock mechanism without drilling out the rivets on the electric window mechanism (which is integrated in the inner door panel).

I'm really not sure how to go about fixing this tbh, I'm sure someone more experienced will be along with some better advice soon

Yeah, never thought of that, door will need to be open 1st to access it, I'm sure I've seen a method to get it open, but I can't remember where, try a google.

If you can open the door then I can tell you how to get the door card off with ease but as you can't that doesn't help.......

If the door pin is in the up position then it would suggest that isn't the problem.......

If you can't open the door from the outside then it would suggest that even if you could get the door card off then then wire that connects to the door trigger will be in place so in my opinion something on the lock barrel on the side of the door has failed......

Not too sure what to suggest to be honest.........have you contacted a dealer?

I had a similar problem with one of my rear doors last year. The dealer diagnosed a faulty door lock control module, then the door lock motor and then damaged the door whilst repairing it all (but that's another story that's fairly well documented in another thread on here somewhere). I can tell you which dealer NOT to take it to. ;-)

My door wouldn't respond to any inputs from outside or inside handles and I even tried prising the door open whilst someone else held the handle in the open position. Once they deadlock and something fails, there's no easy way to override it and get the door open.

You can get the door card off with the door shut as the screws are accessible if you pull the weather seal away from the door slightly I believe. I certainly managed to do this on my rear door which also involved the removal of tye rear seat base.

Fun and games ;-)

Had a deadlocked rear door on an Octavia, we got it open by firmly hitting the door (around the catch area) with the palm of the hand and simultaneously pulling the handle. It was quite noisy, but no damage was done.
