oil leak from what?

could anybody tell me what the
donut shaped thing in the middle of picture
is and what does it do.mine is leaking oil.
if it helps there is a pipe from the top of it.

Thats the VNT actuator on the turbo. However I'd be suprised if t leaking oil as it doesnt have oil in it or going to it.

still have leak.
the oil is coming from the bottom of the black
plastic unit that can be seen at bottom of pic
with vw logo on.
any ideas.
still under warratee.
