Default Plastic thingy on rear shockers

Cleaning the back of my rear wheels today I noticed a plastic cover thing on my shocker but you could just move it up and down. It's the same on both wheels. Is it supposed to be loose like that or do I need to have a look at it?
Cheers.

Sounds like your bump stop covers mate and they have more than likely broken in the middle? You can replace them, they aren't expensive to buy but take some time to fit............

Yep, they will be your bump stops.

TBH unless they fall down then I wouldn't bother doing anything about replacing them unless the car is under warranty

Ok thanks. Still under warranty so I'll get them checked out.
