Default Service Interval/Timing Belt

Hi Folks,
Does the 2.5 V6 TDi have the same 60k or 4 years for the Timing Belt doing as the rest of the Skoda range?

Cheers

That is my understanding and the Dealer always puts this 60,000miles or 4yrs for Cambelt on every invoice I get from them.

80k or four years for the V6 belt, also will need a pump belt.

Great fun...not.

Always do the cam belt earlier if its school run type miles.
Its the stopping and starting, not the motorway miles that gets them. My pal a Land rover service engineer says "Always change the adjuster pulley as well".

Hell no, its a massive job and a right pain in the **** to boot. Might as well stick a water pump on whilst your in there. The bearings have been known to collapse in them.

I bought a 2002 low mileage 1.8T which had done less than 20,000 when I bought it last year. There is nothing in any of the docs that came with the car to say it has had the belt changed.

I bought the car from a Skoda dealer and they serviced it before I took the car away.

If the belt was due to be done then they should have done it ?

Is there any way of checking if the belt has been changed by looking at it. Or should I just assume that it hasn't and get it done ASAP..

John

I can confrim it is 4 years or 80k miles. (at the very latest)

It's a big job, at least 5 hours labour. Like others have said, I'd get all the other bits changed at the same time.

Still sorry to have had to trade mine in (just before this was due ) but to have saved this money made it a little easier.
