| Well I have a 2.5 TDI (6-speed) on a 24-hour test drive and during this mornings drive to work in Hampshire from west London all I think I may have invented a new word – waftmatic. For a car so large it is power full and amazingly refined. From weaving through the tight narrow and speed-hump lined streets of Ealing to the open and empty stretch of the M3 – I am seriously impressed. The engine has ample power (160bhp) and makes a smooth purring noise. Even at high motorway speeds conversations in the cabin can be held at a whisper like volume. Popped to the pub for lunch today and 5 up felt no different in performance or handling. If I am to take the leap of faith, make that more of relaxed hush puppy like glide into the Super then I have a few q’s to aks if peeps are happy to give their opinion / answers. What can be achieved from the 2.5 TDI lump? I know it’s not a PD engine and I think I would only be looking for a medium tune-up not a full blown all the engine can muster raw power? Does the 2.5 have an Intercooler? What sort of MPG are people getting out of the 2.5? - How much to fill up and how often in miles approx? Has anyone ordered anything from the Milotech range? – I fancy the look of the two front sports/ mesh grills… Although handling is ok I think a little firmer and a touch lower would help both ride and looks – can anyone suggest anything for the suspension? Bearing in mid I will be doing a 25 mile one commute to work on country lanes and then mostly long distance motorway work – I doubt track work but never say never …..lol Many Thanks, Seb |

![]() As for having an intercooler. that's what the 'I' in TDI stands for! The others, I can't help with, I'm afraid... Last edited by ap0gee; 14-04-2005 at 15:58.

| Given that the original 155hp version of that engine has 2 intercoolers, I would guess that the 160hp version has two too. A few of our our overseas members have really enhanced the looks of their Superbs with body mods, Try a search and see what turns up.

Ordered the grilles, headlamp brows etc. over a month ago from Butts. No idea what they look like because they haven't arrived, but should do in three weeks time ![]()

About the back-end though has anyone tried putting the OEM VW Passat rear lightclusters in...? the ones that have two circular brake and driving light sections. Quote:

| You've been hanging around with Xavier too much havent you Seb. You've really caught the bug now . as for the Passat lights, they will not fit straight in, but the body will need to be 'adjusted' before it fits.

Well I have found the motor I would probably go for - the question really is can I really live with being 10mpg down from the Golf at lower speeds too....... ![]()

The delay from Butts doesn't seem to be the problem, its Milotec that missed bits out of the order, so maybe if I'd gone direct there would still have been bits missing?
