1. Remove grill from car using standard hex bit x8

2. Place your shiny grill on a work bench and re-consider what you are about to do... a cup of tea helps here.



3. Drill out 6 no. rivets as shown



4. Using a flathead screw driver, some firm pressure and love.... push out the silver coloured tabs which remove the entire chrome part of the grill



5. Here's the grill in two parts



6. Here's the badge off



7. And here it is in it's first two coats of primer



8. Finished

from the lack of pics im gonna guess its the mk2 octy? if its the first one you dont need to drill anything out. all ya need to do is undo it as per the hex bit then use a flatblade screwdriver to gently pry the clips open enough to pop the silver insert out. did it recently...(see "what do you drive" thread 2nd page)

ok mate,
i've had a look at your mk 1
i'm still a bit confused?
so all you've done is taken off the chrome trim,
or have you sprayed the chrome trim black?

diggler you takin to me????
removed the chrome surround that is chrome and had it sprayed black, its actually plastic sprayed to look chrome.
