No fault codes.

Imo its the MAF

Not yet lol

it only did twice on the way home just now, not far from the house so I didn't bother, got too do a full test later

MAF's are funny things when they go, seems to give different symptoms to different cars. Pain when they don't throw a code though  Good luck in your quest to track it down mate. Keep us posted.

I unplugged the maf it was ok for about 30 seconds then it started doing it again. So when i stopped i opened the bonnet to plug the maf back in. Had a brain wave and turned the ignition on, the TB did its thing, and low and behold its driven ok since. I won't hold my breath though lol.

Edit ......Just drove about 3 miles home and it's fine again, must have been the TB alignment going on a mental.

The open bonnet turn on ignition trick must do something then as it seems too have cured my issue.:confused::confused:

It was whirring and bleeping like hell mind you, I just left it go until it went quiet.

I actually watched my TB during this period and it does.........nothing  I think the noise is the injectors aligning or initialising as it definitely comes from behind the TB.

Glad it worked for you mate, fingers crossed it has done the trick

you sure:O i dare you to try doing the throttle alignment with the engine running then:rofl:

the noise you can hear is probably the idle stepper motor finding it's base position

Just scanned the car again and I have a brake switch implausible signal fault.

Could this be the issue, as in when your brake it cuts the throttle, so if the switch is duff it could be trying to cut the power as it thinks I'm trying to brake ???

I've read on here of that happening before. Cool I reckon you have found it  and it's a cheap easy fix.

Thinking about it, it was happening after slowing down, then moving off again, so yes I think I have the problem solved, funny though as I've just been out and its fine again.

Hi Dave. Maybe if you have changed the switch recently it was quite fitted right or has dislodged slightly? Take it off, clean it up, clear code and check again? You never know mate! Call into Sytner when your around mate.

Update...............

I ignored this problem as it seemed to go away, until Monday evening when a neighbour pulled up outside the house telling "I nearly crashed into the ****ing back of you just now"

I have no brake lights it seems !!!

So my "new" switch has had the d1ck as well.

No codes showing in vagcom now though :confused::confused:
