Mk1 Fabia Sump Guard

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I recently purchased one of the resonably rare Fabia sump guards from V5-Steve. Upon it's arrival I was very impressed with it's quality but it also looked quite straight forward to get made.

A friend (RallySlag3 on here) saw the sump guard and showed an interest in getting one made for his Fabia VRS.

So . . . seeing as i'm going to have to go down the road of creating drawings and then getting them out to fabricators to get some costs in I thought i'd offer them out to you guys also whch will hopefully bring the cost of them down a bit as i'd aim to get them made in bulk.

I'm also looking at getting them powder coated satin black as an optional extra as I think some of you may want to aim more towards the OEM look?

As for prices - it's going to massively depend upon the quantity made in one go so it's difficult to actually say but i'd hazard a guess as around the £150 mark, plus maybe £20 for powered coating should you want it.

So what i'm looking for a minute is initial interest to give me a feel for suggested quantities to give to the manufacturer.

A disclaimer - BRISKODA is exempt from any legal liability if problems arise from the buy.

This is not an offical BRISKODA organised buy and therefore BRISKODA, CANNOT be held responsible for any wrong doing that may occur.

I could be interested in a powdercoated unit, it depends on cost though as I don't want to sign a blank cheque.

At this point i'm not expecting full commitment from people - I just want a rough idea of numbers so I can give the fabricator and idea of batch quantity - that way I can get us the best price out of him.

I could be interested, depends on if I manage to save up enough for coilovers or not

I would be interested as well. :) Thanks

And me, depending on price and maby a pic?

Dave

i'd be intrested too depending on price and a pic

I don't think we'd be able to get pictures of the finished article until they're made as they won't make any until a minimum order quantity is reached and they'll only make them if we pay for them up front.

The item is just a folded, re-inforced, sheet of metal with bolt-holes in it, plus a bracket with bolt-holes in it.

The picture that was used in the original for-sale thread from V5-Steve was this one.

You'd have to say it doesn't look like £150 worth, but that's limited run production for you.

I'm hoping to get them to make a sample item as a 'first off' but I need to speak to them first.

Will try and get down to see them on Friday with it and go from there.

Im interested,

Count me in, I need one of these, I spoke to V5-Steve and was going to buy his, but I was not able to buy at the time due to location. Keep me posted. a plain guard will do me fine :-)

do we know how much they are going to be yet?

unit 18 mentioned making some of these up?

I may have someone to make one of these up for me. 1/4 inch alu sump guard

Anyone still interested?

I'm interested. How much?

As far as i can see they are straight bits of sheet with one bend is that correct? is so the best bet is probley to have a number off made laser cut (this will include holes) would be interested in one of these depending upon price.
