Briskoda international roadtrip MK 11 First Pics added NOT 56K

Featured Replies

We are leaving on the second international Briskoda roadtrip tomorrow, albeit with only 2 Briskodians going this year, and no Skodas :rofl: but on the + side it was sooooo much easier to organise and no worries about peeps getting lost

Just been checking the long range weather forcasts and I am feeling relieved that I decided to buy a set of snow socks for the car, hopefully the roads will remain open and I will bore you all with pictures in a few weeks.

Play nicely :P

No space for the duty free, good excuse not to bring back pressies though :D

Plenty of room in there for a pack of foreign chewing gum or 2

Hope you're having a great trip. Bit concerned though about you needing snow socks . Does this mean the shorts might be put away? :P

Never, shorts and speedos all the way :P

Long range weather (and short range for that matter) had snow over the Grossglockner, keeps changing but better safe than sorry;)

Currently sat in Maranello, 26 degrees burnt to a crisp, So far we have had delays due to a fatac on the M25 about 50 cars in front (glad I was taking it steady), and missed planned ferry. Killed an alloy in a f'ing toll booth:O, Tomtom as belched smoke after frying in excess heat and being turned on for approx 36 hours:rotz:, navigated Milan in rush hour sans sat nav:eek:, and found that knocking a dslr onto M setting when the last photo on said setting was taken at night screws up your exposure:O oh and a mx-5 whilst handling sweet as a nut is a gutless bag of crap up a 40% gradient:rofl:

On the + side the roads have had my sphincter acting like a camera aperture, some of them have already made the single lane pass we took last year look like the M62, with off road sections over river beds:eek:. Hotels have been up with the best, and coupled with walking along a river gorge and vertical railways.... Oh and the Lambo and Ferrari factories weren't bad either:P So far ( in 3 days) taken around 600 photos will try and upload some later but they are all RAW straight from camera.

Next stop Pisa and Mattarana.

Sat in Cannes, the drive round the coast was murder, avoided the autostrada other than to bypass Genoa and Nice, had drive through tinpot towns (Portofino) 33 degree sunshine no roof its a hard life. (Mind you if I see another Moped.........................)

I know Genoa well, was there week before last in the octy. Traffic in the centre is not that bad and if you stick to the main through route is a doddle.

I quiet liked the drive west from Genoa towards Sanova following the coast road, dodging between the millions of scooters.

looks like a really nice trip you guys had! really liked the piccys :D

Nice.

That pic of gorge walkways and the lake at the top of the rollercoaster railway look amazing:cool:

Thanks for posting the pics

Taken 12 GB of pics so far  Now sat in Baratier waiting for a glass of green Sh!te ;), enjoyed the pool Jacuzzi and steam room :P, Looks like we may be in for a bit of a thunder storm.

Been a long day today, managed the route Napoleon, the Verdon Gorge and Corniche sublime, took a bit of a dodgy single lane road between the 2 , then from Carpentras headed out toward Nice before heading over the col. de Bonette, and playing with some machinery that was on some sort of time trial, 80's M3, Renault 5 Dimma, and a citroen Dianne (I think :o) What a fantastic road, the Dianne was the scout car and driven by someone who obviously new the road so it was a pleasure to hang on his shirt tails most of the ascent.

Ventoux tomorrow if the weather is OK don't wanr another peasouper like last year.

Sat in Bormio at the foot of the Stelvio, you know you are in a posh hotel when the bog as a phone and is bigger than the lounge back home

Hit our first real snow yesterday at the top of the furka, drove through a bit of a blizzard, well low snow cloud at least. The Bernadino was looking decidedly chilly from the base early on but the sun came out and we managed to stay bellow the cloud base.

Not sure what to expect tomorrow and certainly heavy snow forecast for the Grossglokner the last time I looked, ah well all good fun, will post more pics when internet time is cheaper :o

Afore mentioned Citroen, glad I had stiffer suspension :)

Looks like a Renault 4 to me :rotz:

PS how much 'kin holiday do postmen get?!
