ive cured the 17705 etc codes !!!

Featured Replies

hi all , ive done it . his the story .

i brought the car a year ago , and had the problems on which i didnt know about . anyway the engine management light came on after a week off ownership . i good friend in the village had a VAG Com so we pluged it up . came up with 17705 and the cooling system code ( forgot number ) .

at the time my DV was fluting so i was told i needed a new onw and a new cooling temp plug . i changed that and i put a forge 007p on .

it cured the cooling but not the 17705 code . i put a standard DV back on thinking it was the 007p it didnt cure it BUT felt torquer with the standard DV on .

as time went by i was getting the revs going up and down from cold and no matter how much i put me foot down so it didnt stall itself it still do it .

so i went to a mates garage and he checked my boost pipes to see if i had a leak or a cracked pipe , everything was fine , so i cleaned the throttle body and it was spot on for a couple of months then the problems came back , also the car would hesitate alot when you give it so stick , pulling and not pulling . it was like driving with your left foot on the brake .

the codes this time we scaned it was 17705 and the fuel trim code .

i then got it booked in to skoda and they said it will be a air intake temp sensor and a turbo pressure hose and if these doesnt fix it , it will be a new throttle body .

i put them parts on and still no joy but it cured the revs from a cold start .

skoda wanted £230 for a new throttle body but luckly westallc had one for sale so i brought that of him .

i got it put on friday and .................... it fix the pressure drop and fuel trim !!! but then still had the hesitate problem still .

after an hour and a few phone calls we came to think it was the air flow meter . we un-pluged it and bingo no problem . so i ordered one and put it on and its spot on now !!

full boost , not hesitate and no fault codes !!! bingo !!! im a happy guy ! now its re-map time lol

Glad you got it sorted at last!

AWESOME NEWS!!!!!

How much was the MAF? I've had Forge, then regular DV and cleaned and replaced TB and also removed MAF, but not replaced it.

Think most of the rest of that I've done.

i got the MAF at trade price , due to using my dads mates garage  . if you think its the MAF i un-plug mine and find out that way , worth a try .

On the cold start start, however I feel a bit of shakes from underneath, I am not sure how to describe it..
