Grey Seal Overload

Featured Replies

Went out for a spin to the coast and unexpectedly came across these at Donna Nook.

Even the RAF bombing runs don't bother the seals.

The best time to visit is during November & December.

Thought I'd add a few more - some of the pups are literally hours old!

(i should of been diving with them this weekend up at the Farne Islands, poxy weather :finger:)

Great pics, John - I've heard about Donna Nook before, but I've never been over there yet - might have to make a point of it this year

Brilliant photos!

Love the first one; seems like he's having a good laugh to himself

I came across a gallery on the BBC local website. You should submit some of yours!

Thanks Steve.

I can assure you that the nearby (off camera) seal didn't think he was having a laugh but it does look like it. I've sent a few pics off to the site you mentioned and we'll have to see if they get posted!

Nice shots :D

They must have been overwhelmed and curious by all the onlookers.

Awww, cute!
Only until you get too close and then you might change your mind.

These seals speak the Queens (lincolnshire) english and wouldn't understand Geordie though. PS If pic 3 is anything to go by you might not even need a snorkel

You're like me and a lot of others Bryan - totally unaware of what's virtually on your doorstep!

Wow. Really first rate pics. Think I'll go for a ride out there next weekend.

Yeah, they look cute but the public are warned not to get too close, as even the young ones can inflict quite a nasty bite!

As you say John, they must get quite confused with people all around them...

Steve

Great job on the last one - looks so happy! :)

I would suggest you read the BBC's T&C's first, by sending in anything to that Corporation, you surrender all rights to that image, they can use it on an ad campaign or anything they want without your knowledge, permission or indeed any credit or reward.

One of my pet hates, big companies using the eagerness of the general public to get free stuff................

:PIt's a good job I wasn't hoping to make £1,000,000 from these then bandit!

I didn't send them the solo jetskiing seal pictures as I thought they were 2-a-penny.

Instead I was waiting for them to use the jetski and multi-tow some of their newest family members but they must have guessed & didn't oblige:thumbup:

Have you been 'bitten by the beeb' before?
