fabia vrs exhaust

Featured Replies

Hi guys, had the tracking don eon my fabia Vrs the oter day and was shocked at the tiny diameter of the downpipe compared to the rest of the system, ive been looking into miltek downpipe and sports cat, but have read u have to change the cat back with this also?? im not intersted in changin the whole thing jus the downpipe. So i then looked into downpipe and de-cat, but im not a fan of loud and droaning exhausts lol, im aware it will change note abit. any body had any experience with either replacements that can shed some light for me? any help greatly aprecited, tahnks guys, james

Well as it's a diesel you don't have to worry about exhaust scavenging so much. However, the downpipe will be designed to suit the VNT Turbo. If you increase the input to turbo diameter of the downpipe, you may get some strange boost effects, probably low boost in fact, as the exhaust gasses will be moving slower.

If you were going for an aggressive map, with big injectors etc, then a bigger exhaust would make sense. As standard though, I would leave it alone, or have a custom setup made for decat, but leave downpipe as it is.

Yes to get full effects from the mods, do them before a remap. This will mean the software will take full advantage to the slight increase in flow/ decreased back pressure. I would also consider fitting a wider Intake pipe and trumpet to the air filter housing, these are from a SEAT Ibiza Cupra PD160. It is a very common mod for the Fabia.

Thanks very much for the help
