Eibachs fitted to FL Vrs (with pic)

Featured Replies

On Monday just gone, went on a little trip to Awesome Gti and got Eibachs fitted to my FL Vrs. Very impressed with the service and loving the new look of the car. It is quite subtle but I think really suits the car much better than standard. Haven't noticed any change to the overall comfort, however, there is definitely less roll when cornering. Did 300 miles yesterday and no complaints at all.

Just given it a quick wash and managed to get a quick pic before it started raining again.

Ok a little help please. I am new to photobucket and thought I had it sussed, however, it would appear I am wrong. Why no pic?

Thanks, how exactly did you do that?

That's what they should look like as standard.

Very nice indeed.

Looks better - do they affect the ride at all?

To be honest I haven't noticed any difference. Maybe a touch firmer and certainly less roll. Seemed to be less bouncy on the motorway too although that could be my imagination.

If it's only a subtle change at most then I think I'll be going for them as well come delivery time - Many thanks

Simples

Go to your photobucket album and hover your cursor over the picture you want to post and a drop-down box will come up - then highlight the IMG code option (see below), right click, then copy the link into your post - simple as that - no need to mess about with anything else

So how much of a drop is that?

20mm apparently and I would guess that is about right.

Also thanks to Brimmer for showing me the error of my ways.

Looks far better than standard. Like other have said, the vrs should come out of the showroom looking like that !

Lovely. What sort of cost? is fitting springs a DIY job?

Managed to get Awesome to price match the springs so all in it was £315. Not sure how much know-how you need to fit them yourself but I think that a 4 wheel alignment is recommended which was included at Awesome.

Unfortunately it doesn't look quite that good anymore. Wife just called to say she had badly curbed the rear nearside alloy on a huge curb. Bloody typical! She then moans at me for being a little angry!

Trade it in for a new one (the wife that is)

Really feel sorry for you, my last brand new car, Focus ST, was keyed down both sides after 11 days emoticon-0106-crying.gif

I take it she was driving your new car without your permission emoticon-0101-sadsmile.gif

If the punishment is a public flogging, I'll be there emoticon-0102-bigsmile.gif

That's bad, my wife reversed into a pub wall 6 days after I brought our current BMW a couple of years ago!

She did the last car too (07 PD VRS), both nearside wheels that time. Looks like I will have to fork out for a refurb or a new wheel, although not sure how bad it is, waiting to see it later! On a different note, anyone know how much a set of VRS springs with only 3000 miles on them are worth?

Well it was bound to be YOUR fault wasn't it

I admit, this might be me being a bit thick, but if it's lowered by a further 20mm doesn't that mean ground clearance is now less than 110mm? How does it handle speed humps etc now?

Just a thought after remembering my mate losing his front number plate on my (quite steep) drive from his VX220 which didn't really have much clearance either...

Haven't encountered any speed bumps yet, dont think it will be an issue though if taken at low speed, there is still a decent amount of clearance. My drive is quite steep but there is still plenty of room.

Yes 5 door ST1 with sunroof in Colorado Red bought new in July 2006

Did you have a ST in a past life?
