It is very easy to do if you replace them with the same size, however you will hear very little improvement unless you fit a new head unit or a new amp. to drive them at the same time.

There are no shortcuts to improved sound quality.

Speakers (even good ones) will only re-produce a signal which is sent to them by the amp. so start with improving the amp. and your stock speakers will sound much better.

It is an urban myth that you can improve the sound quality by only changing the speakers.

Depending on your cars age, i think the speakers will be riveted in rather than screwed... so you'll need a rivet gun to replace or maybe some replacement bolts?

just to let you know :)

You could always try Halfords  :moon:

Why don't you just wire in your amp. using the standard speakers to see how much improvement there is before changing the speakers.

If you then decide to add speakers you should go for upgraded components.

6" mids will go in the doors with a lot of trouble, time and effort but the end result is worth it if you love your music.

Don't forget to Dynamat the interior of the doors to deaden the sound.

The best position for the tweeters is in the original pod or part way up the A pillars.

I would post some pics. of mine but since the new changes to the site I can't add photos to my post.

Anyone know why this is?

Cheers...

The Fabia mark 1 has relatively shallow depth for the speakers so that will limit your choice of speakers to ones which aren't so deep/shallow mount speakers.

I've got some shallow MB Quarts 6.5 inch components shallow mount which I'm thinking of selling. They were £249 but you can get them for £199
