Samsung Tocca Lite

Featured Replies

Hi. I have a SKODA Superb with all the whistles etc and the in-car phone facility (GSM III) worked perfectly with a cheap Nokia. After finding the Nokia did not like being put in the washing machine had to buy new phone. Have now changed to a Samsung Tocca Lite (which I think is a great phone with lots of facilities for the price) BUT although it recognises the car and the car sees it they wont "talk" nicely to each other.

Has anyone any experience and can anyone offer any advice

Did they pair and authorise OK?

Did they pair and authorise OK?

Thanks for the reply,

They appear to recognise each other:

The Phone finds the car and cvreates a small icon called "SKODA r-SAP" (it is from this icon that the authorise setting works).

The Car finds the phone and gives it a name

BUT

On the phone there are 4 settings BLUETOOTH ON/OFF, VISIBLE ON/OFF, REMOTE SIM MODE ON/OFF and AUTHORISE a particular car system YES/NO

If I set AUTHORISE to NO then each operation (like starting the link, asking to copy the contacts, making phone calls) needs seperate authorisation on the phone and usually does not work.

If the phone is set with all settings to ON or YES (including authorisation) then the systems find each other BUT after I switch the car ignition OFF the phone stays locked in REMOTE SIM Mode and will not operate except in the car. There is no way to reset the phone except to remove the battery and restart. So I can get them to each see the other (just) but not to work properly. The previous Nokia switched itself to remote SIM when I switched on the ignition and back to its own operations when I switched the ignition off. That is really what I want witrh th

Even when they seem to be talking the car does not seem to be able to input the contacts that are in the phones memory, so I cant create a list of contacts. I dont know yet whether I can phone since with the previous phones I allways used the list of contacts and had the important ones voice operated.

Any Ideas

How are things with all but visible on?

After finding the Nokia did not like being put in the washing machine had to buy new phone.

:rofl::rofl::rofl:

I have the same phone but use a parrot minikit slim. I have phones visibility on, secure mode off and remote sim mode off. The phone tells you when you are / not connected, you just have to agree on screen (little message pops up). All my contacts went onto the Bluetooth device automatically with voice recognition. Can’t see the authorise setting at the moment, but will try and check tomorrow.

Thanks for all your ideas and suggestions. Please keep them coming. The phone and the the car seem so close to working but not quite. Managed to get them to talk today, even made a phone call, but not to transfer contacts, and not to find each other after restarting the car.. I will eventually try all the possible combinations and advise results.

By the way whats a Parrot kit. I thought the GSM III installation meant nothing else was needed, and that certainly was true with the Nokia phone which allowed everything that the phone could do to be done via the in-car system, including text messages etc.

To answer one question. With "visible" set to OFF the car does not find the phone.
