Yeti 1.2 TSI DSG7

Featured Replies

Hi gang!

I am a new member from Greece.

I have ordered a Yeti 1.2 TSI DSG 7.

Production starts on February and the dealership cannot provide me yet with a week of production.

I would like to ask you guys if anyone has received a Yeti equipped with the complete sight & light package which should includes:

-Rain sensor

-Automatic lights

-Auto dimming center mirror

-Auto dimming driver’s mirror

-Entry lights on the mirrors

-Electrically foldable mirrors

-Auto tilting passenger mirror (without memory seats)

Can anyone confirm delivery of this combo?

Also, has anyone received a Yeti with illuminated visors?

Thank you in advance.

Hi. Welcome to the forum. I don't think this package exits as a pack in the UK. However nearly all the items come as part of the Elegance (highest) trimso anyone owning an Elegance will have most of these.

Hi,

Dont think foldable mirrors are possible.

seo

In the UK our Elegance has a similar set-up but, as seo said, no folding mirrors and no tilting passenger mirror.

I was disappointed about the lack of folding mirrors (I have a narrow alley way at home) but looking at their design, I doubt whether they would actually reduce the total width by my much even if folded.

-Electrically foldable mirrors are possible. I found them in ETKA.

-Auto passenger tilting mirror is possible, it is in the pdf version of the user manual, also found in ETKA (as mirror housing with memory). It is not clear if it can be selected and be functional without the power seats. (I know it is possible for the VW EOS).

-Illuminated visors are also possible. I found them in ETKA and in the pdf version of the user manual.

Anyone took delivery with such equipment so far?

Hi,

not come across folding mirrors or sun visor illumination as a feature fitted to the Yeti certainly not in the UK. As they are available within the VAG group it's possible they will become options or standard features in the future.

I believe there are a number of features which are available that some counties importers have not taken up, for example in the UK we do not have the double sun visor, the third rear head rest / armrest on the base models and Moon alloys cannot be obtained here.

Regards,

TP

...and the lack of MDI on UK Yeti's. :(

I thought that we did have the double sun visor, I thought that it was mentioned in the brochure?? That is a pain I imagined how useful it might be with the sun was coming low from the front quarter. Oh well.

I thought that this was standard as well. Oh bugger, I like double sun visors.

Have you used a double sun visor and in what car? I am a double sun visor virgin so can only imagine theplaesure of its use! :giggle: My Volvo TGB has a strange single visor that can be pulled very low it mounting being the normal drop down hinge except it can be sort of canter-levered down further. Most probably designed this way because of the exceptionally low winter sun in Sweden.

Yes Anthony 1, I used to drive a lot of Volkswagen Touareg 4x4s and they were fitted with a double sun visor as standard. If I remember correctly double visors were also standard on Saabs for a while and may still be.

It is about time that manufacturers found something better than the pull down sun visor! Their are always gaps that let the sun through. All of the ones except the Volvo one that I mentioned seam not to have had any thought put into them at all. They all appear to be afterthoughts. An electrically controlled blind or even an electronic self setting blind, that pulls down the full width of the car behind the mirror without gaps would be a huge improvement. A similar arrangement could be used for the side widows also also. in this day and age some sort of photochromic arrangement should not be too far-fetched.

Well, I do not get the use of the double visors. I never use the visors (for sun protection) anyway.

I just like the illuminated ones. I think it is a useful feature.

Congratulations on finally getting your Yeti. So the big question whats the DSG like to drive? I've got one on order and it should be built in the next few weeks and I'm curious how it drives compared to the manual 1.2.

Thanx!

The DSG! Like we say here in Greece, it is... "All the money!!!" which means that it is great!

Coming from a 1.6 FSI MT6 VW EOS, I am not qualified to say how it compares to the 1.2 TSI MT6 Yeti.

Also, I only have a few miles on it and I intend to break it in gradually and patiently.

What I like so far:

the torque of the engine, which comes at low revs! I can't wait to test the kickdown after break in!

the smooth gear shifts! Feels more like driving an electric vehicle!

the position of the pedals! They prevent you from accidentally stepping on the "phantom clutch pedal".

the promising MPG...

the combination of Cruise control with the DSG. I hope that accelerating with the rocker switch is swift enough.

Thanks for that it sounds great, must admit coming from a manual myself I am a bit nervous about the automatic life, what am I going to do with my left foot etc. Hope you enjoy yourself with your Yeti, I can't wait to get mine now.

I don't know how i missed this thread - but it seems Speedster is the only 1.2 TSI DSG7 owner on this forum

I hear this gearbox makes the most of the performance of the engine - have you driven the manual version as a comparison???

post photos in the 'pinned' owners pictures thread please - it's white and DSG, a very rare Yeti ATM
