Or you could lock the car with the key rather than the plip, which will disable the volumatic and vibration sensors, but not the perimeter alarm (VAG factory systems only).

Thanks Ken I tried using the key manually , even following the 2 sec trick of locking it twice, however the alarm still goes off randomly, i guess its a sensor gone bad..i am worried already going to a main dealer will cost me a fortune.. yes my car has the factory alarm...i was hoping one of the fuses shud help me manage the issue temporarily...i am also hoping there is a reasonable solution to this?

Check the VAGCom forum for a member near you then.

As to "how the alarm works 101", I've spent way too many ferry trips with Audi owners who didn't know that!

cheers many thanks ken...:)

My alarm went off at 1am today :wall: After a frantic few minutes trying to silence the alarm, removed fuse 60. The silence was golden.

Booked in it in with my local indy Skoda garage for next week. They have diagnosed a faulty switch on one of the doors. Hopefully, that will sort it.

Must admit, and dont want to sound like a numpty; but I didnt realise I had an alarm until it went off this morning.

ahh so does this work for sure, does it? fuse 60 does the trick temporarily, even i have done the same , so far the silence is golden, but i keep my fingers crossed every night before sleeping ;-)( i am sure some of my neigbours too )

Seems to work. Fuse 60 is the warning siren. It was an educated guess - but effective.
