hmmm tempting on both the track and stand........but will the Octi ok on the track with maybe only a few 1k miles on it?

Consider it a bit of running in. I don't see any issue with one going round with a few k on it, and you don't HAVE to go 100%. It is our club's 15 minute session and I am not expecting everyone to go hell for leather (well I am with Des anyway )

What about insurance? Most policies exclude fun on the track. Just wanted to check what the score was in terms of requirements and if the worst happened etc.

Quite simply, you're not insured. Unless that is you choose to take out specialist track day insurance. I looked at it and found the cost to be inhibative.

I have said this before, with the tarmac being about 10 metres wide, everyone going the same way AND MORE IMPORTANTLY everyone being from Briskoda and having mutual respect for each other and abiding by the strict trackday rules laid down on the day, I see more risk driving out from Castle Combe down to the M4, than driving around the circuit for 15 minutes. This is my opinion and not necessarily shared by others. I have never bothered with trackday insurance as I keep within my limits and stick to the rules / respect other users. That means more fun, AND more safety.

It will be my car's first time on track post rebuild probably so yes, I will be going at 99% but giving consideration to others too.

well i know ill be giving it beans seing as i race anyway, my track insurance doesent cover the skoda but CC is a nice wide and grassy surounded circuit and seeing as evryone will be taking their own pace and not competing your fine!
