Very Slow Delivery

Featured Replies

I posted on here when I ordered my new car on the 16th November.

A Skoda Superb Greenline.

I've now been told that It wont be at the dealership until 22 Feb. - That's a 16 week delay - WTF????

My last car - a Honda, was delivered within 3 weeks of placing the order. - admittedly it was not factory order, rather it was already in the country.

Similarly my colegue who ordered his Audi A3 the same week has a similar date for delivery.

Anyone know why VW/Audi group take so long to get new cars into the UK?

(Or we just unlucky enough to miss a shipment?)

Even more annoyingly, what I really wanted was the Superb Estate. but it was not yet available when i was told I must plac emy order.

At the time I was told that the first deliverys of that car would be in Feb. so effictively I could have had the estate model in the same shipemnt if I'd been allowed to wait a little bit in placing my order!

Poo!

Ask about changing the order for an Estate, shouldn't be that difficult to accomodate!

I ordered my greenline last friday and was told that i would have to wait 10 weeks. The dealer said that he was told that there is a problem with the right hand drive production line that is causing the delays but If its resolved soon it should be sooner...

Actually for my order he replaced an existing car he had on order but wasnt sold. If he hadnt i think he said something like 13 weeks wait.

What a marvellous delivery that was

Not !

I ordered an SE 170 with some extras end of Sept-latest delivery date is mid Feb!! I will hold off now until March 1st. I would think I hold the record for longest build time?

Cheers

Hi All,

Ordered my Superb Greenline at the end of Oct 09, was due to be delivered 22/01/10, now been put back to 05/03/10!

I am waiting for my new Superb 2.0L 170bph to come in. I ordered on the 8th January in Cavan and was told that it would take 6-8 weeks at most. What's the longest wait anyone has had in Ireland? I hope it won't be much longer. I just sold my 2007 Superb and have a borrowed 1997 golf to see me through.

As far as I know, the next boat is due in on the 14th march, one arrived with some stock on the 2nd, i'm told that my car is also due in on next boat, so counting down the days now :)

excellent, even better news.

My delivery date keeps getting further away. It been 22/1, 2/3, 5/3, 12/3 and has now moved to the 17/3.

Superb II Greenline ordered late October 2009.

Talked with dealer today and was told my car was "out of production". So it is built but! He is saying that there are 2 ships due into Ireland, one on the 10th and the other on the 20th. He thinks it more likely that my car will be on the 2nd ship

Is your dealer in the dublin area, or outside, ?

Cork based, ships brings cars to Cork and Dublin, dealer cant say where the next ships are heading to tho

Called to the dealers today to check if any news, was told that my car had just come off a ship here in Cork, and would be mine in 5 days

Was chatting away with him when he got a call from another office, they got it wrong, it was not my car but another Superb they were waiting for :doh:

They think my car is on the next ship due in, it MIGHT be in Ireland some day next week, but they are not sure :|

Oh well, the wait goes on

To anyone waiting for a Superb, I've just read an article saying that Skoda have just increased production significantly for the second quarter of the year in respect of Superb, as well as Yeti and Roomster (3 extra shifts each). The article has strict copyright conditions and I'm not sure if posting the link would breach these, so I'm playing safe. Go google for it yourself...

Conflicting information here - my order has just been put back from 8th to 24th May.

I suppose it depends on where you are living, Ireland or UK, and where you have ordered your car from. Skoda Ireland, had placed a number of slots for builds, before customers placed orders, so when you went to a dealer, that slot was already moving through the system, without a superb spec, being allocated to it. This I assume reduces the wait time, as I have said before I placed an order with dealer in week 4, got build confirmed in week 7, car built in week 9, and now in country, and will be mine to collect next friday, (as there is a 3 day turnaround, with nvd, and st patricks day, delays things at the dealers end). In all a total of 7 weeks and 2 days, from initial order to collection.

I cannot comment on how Skoda UK, handle orders, but I would have no complaints with Skoda Ireland, or Dealers, as they have checked progress of build, everytime I asked, and have kept me up to date.

I just took delivery today of my platin silver, black leather elegance Superb 2ltr 170bph. Beautiful car. Very happy. I ordered it on the 8th of January. So I have taken delivery now almost 10 weeks since order. I had been quoted 6-8 weeks so not bad I suppose. The dealer told me today that if I was ordering it today he would be telling me 16 weeks till delivery! Can you believe it?

So there you go 10 weeks delivery time from January. Too bad for skoda with such a long wait. Dealer told me that someone just walked away today when they heard of such a long wait for a car. They will lose customers.

Just curious did you collect the 5 door hatch or the combi? , and also as a matter of interest did your dealer fit locking wheel nuts and install maps on the columbus for you foc.?

been advised my 4x4 Estate is due for build in week 14 (it's week 12 now isnt it?) woop! - i hope (ordered 25th Feb)

I whole heartedly expect my Columbus to come with maps on disc as well as pre-loaded - It aint a SatNav with no maps! - the demo car i pawed had a disc case in the glove box...
