Daylight Driving Lights

Featured Replies

Does anyone know if the UK spec Yeti "S" has Daylight Running Lights. Doesn't say in brochure, but my suspicion is that it has.

No idea, but welcome anyway :)

Someone will no doubt answer soon......

Am planning to get a 2WD Yeti "S" 1.2TSi. I reckon a set of winter tyres will see me through most of the weather we get in the Highlands.

Any suggestions / advise on that model / engine?

Two wheel drive cars with 4 winter tyres cope adequately in the snow, 4 wheel drive just adds additional traction for acceloration and engine braking.

It may not come as standard in the "S" , as it is listed as standard in the elegance spec, and is a £55 option on the "SE", and does not show up as optional equiptment in the "S", hope this helps .

I was also originally under the impression that you needed the Auto lights to have functional DRL but this is not the case.

As long as they are fitted then they can be activated via the indicator arm or Maxidot if fitted. The 'E' spec which I have yet to see does not have fog lights, although the lamps might still have a DRL function as I understand this is going to become a European requirement in the future.

My SE had them as standard.

When I saw the LHD Demo last year I asked the question what do these lights (the front round ones) do and Demo man said many things depending on the model. He added that in 2010 they would include DLR sa it was to become a euro standard. I dont know what my SE has as I am still looking out to sea awaiting its arrival !

Yes it does and generally they seem to be delivered with them on.

If you want them off there is a procedure involving holding the instrument stalk in a certain position whilst also starting the engine - it's in the manual but not as clear as it could be. Had a few gos and got it in the end.

Plus:- If you have Maxidot, there is a direct On/Off control on one of the Set Up screens.

True, but 'S' = no maxi dot

True, but 'S' = no maxi dot

Then you will have to:-

Pull the turn signal light lever towards the steering wheel up to 3 seconds after

switching on the ignition and at the same time, slide it to the bottom and hold it in

this position for at least 3 seconds.

Now pat your head while rubbing your tummy.

I think that's the bit that looses something in translation, what worked for me was doing the lever thing then turning on the ignition.

I think.

What about the tummy-patting?

What about the tummy-patting?

Only required when demanding food at the same time....
