I've finally seen one in the wild

Red seems a popular choice! They will be common as mud come March.....

You're doing better than me. I'm currently in the Czech Republic - there's lots of snow, but I haven't seen a single Yeti on the road!

Perhaps I should have gone to Tibet?!

Actually saw one today too - metallic dark grey. Looked very good on the road and quite 'heavy' looking design wise. Impressed.

Out near Hay on Wye.

Saw a gorgeous red one on the M20 - the only one between my home in Kent and Devon and back - love the red- mine is muscovado which is growing on me!!

To be honest none of the colours really grabbed me - I'd have liked Anthracite or Race Blue. It's not that the colours available don't suit the car, just that none of them leapt out at me.

I'd agree with that. One of the reasons I've ordered a red one is that none of the metallics really grabbed my attention. I liked the blue best but my current Octavia is blue and I really wanted a chaneg of colour and as I haven't had a red car since a Capri in the eighties I decided to go with the red.

Interestingly the capri was a 2.0Gl and the 1.2 Yeti I've ordered develops more power and torque, just shows how engines have come on over the years. I suspect the Yeti won't be quite as much fun as the Capri though!

I eventually spotted three Yeti's while in the Czech Republic, two in white and one in dark blue. They have a great road presence.

I've seen 2 in South Wales, a silver coloured one with Yeti transfers down the side of the door which I have seen twice and the local dealer demo which is being used by one of the salesmen.

ooohhh I nearly crashed the car :o as a metallic dark blue Yeti flew past me on the other side of the road!

Spotted lunchtime today, Saturday 20th Feb 2010, between Bridgnorth and Bewdley on Shropshire /Worcestershire border!

Looked good :)

Well I drove to Surrey on Friday to visit Allams, then onto central London before back up to Worcestershire yesterday. Not a single Yeti on the roads. Even Allams didn't have one in the showroom or on display because they are selling so quickly......

I am getting the feeling in my bones that an Aerofurb reply is on its way....................

Does anyone have a clean car at the moment? I don't think the colour matters. My only worry with white is in the summer with fly splats. They can be mighty tricky to clean off.

I'll second that. My current car is white and squashed flies are an absolute nightmare in the summer.

Someone call...?!

I am actually surprised that the white doesn't show the dirt as much as I (and everyone else) thought (thinks). From a few feet away the brightness shines through the dirt. My black fabia vRS was far more accomplished at looking dirty all the time than the mighty white SM.

Washed it up at work yesterday and it actually didn't get dirty until this morning when it snowed again... emoticon-0106-crying.gif

Okay, mine hasn't got to rally dirt status like the one in the picture but it's about to do 3 days of 120 miles a day on the M40 in the rain and snow so I'll report back... emoticon-0105-wink.gif

PS Muscavado is for lazy people (that should keep the thread going...)

Just back from a 500 mile weekend trip from Sheffield to Salisbury and back, and didn't see a single Monster anywhere !

I spotted my first UK car on the road this morning - just off the A417 - in dark blue, looked pretty good.

I'll take the 'lazy' comment, but would prefer 'wise'.

Colour seems to go duller as the days pass and then when washed gleams in a goldy / browny hue.

Never thought I could buy a brown car (or one with a light leather (Gobi) interior, which I still wouldn't have done if the carpets hadn't been black) but I am delighted with both choices. Put the blind back on the panoramic sunroof and what a great place to be.

FYI, I agree with the comment on owning a black car, beautiful after you clean it, for about 5 minutes!!

I wish i hadn't ordered that colour now - by far the most popular colour choice it seems.

Should have gone for Storm Blue or something.

Missis saw one parked today in Bury St Edmunds, Aqua same colour as ours.

My Aqua blue was 6 weeks old and still had not been washed :giggle: Pic taken mid Jan 2010 after loads of driving in the snow

I take it all back then - you brown jobs can now be known as 'lazy but wise people'...! emoticon-0136-giggle.gif

As Krooked said - who'd have thought that brown would turn out the most popular colour choice , bet that surprised the SUK marketing department!

PS I totally agree about the great cabin (even with Onyx leather) with the blind back and the sun flooding in!

At long last I've seen my very first Yeti. Red SE on 59 plates supplied by Transcity Skoda. Saw it in stationary traffic approaching Vauxhall Cross this morning. Well, most of the traffic was stationary - I was on a push bike and making reasonable progress.

Hooray, a special moment and one I'll never forget. (I'm like that about cars, at least ones in which I have any interest)

I have to say though, it looked much the same as it does in the pictures.

My first in the wild.

Spotted a grey (I think) one in Cumberland Road, Bristol, heading towards Cumberland Basin Bridge system.

Couldn't keep up, let alone close up, having respect for the speed limit - so no more details to protect the driver.

Presume it wasn't a 1.2 - impressed if it was.
