Hi Clive, I have seen Robs thread on this very good, but did Rob not still get a cell light on even with those resistors? I am waiting to do this mod too but not sure about it due to cell light issues.

reading the write up on scn some people have no problems with the cell light and some do.......

one code needs to be mapped out the other is the use of a resistor. as soon as i no i can keep the car i will do all this and do a full report back

p.s you will have to come my way for a cuppa now lol as i aint driving my cav all the way down there ha ha

if you decide to go the full hog adn remove the n249 then the vac reservoir can come off the top of cylinder no 4 as well. Seems to be a popular delete when tidying up the engine bay.

okay buddy thats cool will get the drinks on ice :giggle:

I did get a CEL after a while. I got Ben at Shark to remove it with my new map.

As for N249 removal - what are the risks? It has something to do with preventing overboosting doesn't it?

no buddy the n249 is a valve controlled by the ecu to operate the dv in certain conditions .. but the dv is perfectly capable doing this by itself as it a mechanical system. have read alot about it and early 1.8t never had it.

it will give you a better throttle response and a smother power delivery a win win situation

the guys on golf forum swear by it.

here is the link

You dont need any for removing the Secondary air system,

You will need to blank off the EGR pipe when you remove the EGR value, as in Robs installation pics.
