I made a half arsed attempt to put my head unit into my Fabia VRS at the weekend. But stumbled at the first hurdle.... My headunit needs a direct feed from the battery but on past few cars have bypassed this and it's worked fine. The problem is the head unit needs to be earthed but for teh life of me I cannot find anywhere to earth it nearby behind the dadh. Does anyone have any pointers?

Trap a wire behind the nearest 10mm bolt to the radio ,that is used for fixing an item to the car chassis. It is better to use a solder tag ,which has been soldered to the end of the wire.

Any bolts I could get to just seemed to bolt plastic to plastic :(

You might have to take the wire to the nearside (or offside) to find a metal bolt which bolts to the metal chassis. If you take out the glovebox (5 torx screws) you will find a few places to use .
