Alarm false activation

Featured Replies

My superb alarm unexpectedly went off this evening, it was a false alarm. Our neighbours didnt see anything when it went off, so I am sure its a false activation.

I hope that its a one off, its the first time in 7 days since I got the car that this has happened. If it does happen again can the cause of the activation be read using VCDS?.

Yes, there should be a code, but sadly wont show the time etc, only the mileage it happened at.

Drug problem, talk to Frank

Alarm problem, talk to Jonathon

I do hope you haven't got the same issue he had, and I'm certain he never got a deffo answer to it, maybe the user who bought it from him may be able to say if it's still doing it, if it isn't then something local to Jon must've caused it to go off all the time.

I had this problem with a VW Eos and assuming its the same VAG Alarm (which it probably is) then there are three settings which the dealer can change. The default setting is the highest. Mine was reset to the least senstive level and apart from an occassional false alarm (probably a cat jumping on it) I have had no more problems. Incidentally no fault codes showed because the system thought it was being triggered correctly

Twin door, I bet if it's not 100% closed as it should be it could be setting it off.

I had this problem as well would go off within 1 hour of parking it up normally Skoda took a couple of goesto fix it but not sure what they did but i also had problems with the passenger seat moving by itself , i do know there were no error codes stored they had no idea why it went off

I have just bought a 3 year old soda superb elegance. Great so far but twice the alarm has gone off in my drive, the first time in heavy wind and rain and secondly in a small hail storm. Surely it should not be this sensitive?
