FL vRS Mudflaps

Featured Replies

I picked up my new FL vRS estate yesterday and I'm loving it already! :)

Does anyone know if there are mudflaps available for the FL vRS and what part numbers they are?

Cheers

A search should throw up some info on this but from what I gather the standard octavia front mud flaps fit fine (in fact I've ordered a pair for mine) but the rears don't fit quite so well because vRS bumper is different. Not got part numbers to hand but they're in another thread somewhere. From what I gather OEM mudflaps are pretty ineffective and others on here have gone with rallyflapz?

Sarge.

The rears aren't meant to fit, however they can be made to do so but as they don't align correctly with the car they will 100% collect dirt

Probably been posted before but despite the message "Not suitable for VRS" from Skoda, rear mudflaps part number KEA600001 are a perfect fit for the FL VRS with no modifications, cutting, drilling, buckets of hot water, hairdyers or excessive force required. It took longer to remove the road wheel than fit the flap. Remove the three screws that secure the arch liner at the rear, feed the flap on and line up, insert the screws, push on provided clip to the inside edge of arch liner and insert new screw (Instructions say use a drill but screw self taps through the arch liner). Job done with a bit of copperslip on hub to ensure wheels don't corrode on. Standard fronts fit, sorry no part no. to hand, no need to remove wheel even with 18 Zeniths, just turn to full lock. I would post a pic if I had any idea how to.

If front are the same on FL as Pre FL then the part # is KEA 600 002

Oh no they're not! The clue is in your reply!

Maybe 'your idea of a perfect fit' and a 'perfect fit' are two entirely different things? :smirk:

Granted they can look so-so but having had a set on my car (testing before buying at the dealers) I can 100% say that they would be a dirt trap.

All, the mudflaps as described fit fine!!! They fit to the same standard as a non VRS Octavia (lots in the showroom yesterday when I picked up my new VRS). They are fitted exactly as described, did mine today no problem. They do not make the car look as though its about to rally as per the Rallyflapz!! For £20 a pair I think its good value and they last without looking tatty (had a front set for 3 years on my last VRS).

 I do love it when people try and justify something that is obviously not right and then shoot themselves in the foot!

I wonder why banksie didn't fit a rear set of mud flaps to his old vRS? Probably something to do with them not fitting correctly?

I believe that even though the rear of the car to which the flaps fit looks to be the same as on a non vRS, it is slightly different. Nothing so different that you'd immediately notice though and certainly not too different to make you think that the mud flaps wouldn't be a perfect fit.

If you don't mind dirt collecting in the leading edge gap then go ahead and fit some. If you have a dark coloured car then you'll not notice it too much and can bury your head in the sand as, because you can't see the dirt, it won't actually be there will it! :giggle:

[Rant Over] Maybe someone is willing to fill the gap with some sort of black sealer and that may do the job okay?

So that's a no then :)

NO the reason I did not fit them to my previous VRS was that, and if you know your facts you would know this, the old VRS's rear bumper was a different moulding to the normal Octavia hence why the mudflaps wouldn't fit and hence why I didn't fit them. Just in case you hadn't noticed the FL VRS has the same rear bumper as a FL Octavia!!

Foot blown off I think!!

Do I need to go to the trouble of posting photo's??

I saw some mudflaps on a FL and IMO it looked pooh.

I'm glad you managed to edit your post before I had a chance to reply as I was literally laughing my socks off when you initially posted this:-

So there I was reading that as your FL vRS rear bumper was the same as your pre FL vRS rear bumper, then it would be okay for you to fit mud flaps to it as they obviously hadn't fitted correctly to your old car

However, you then amended it to this:-

Now, much that I like a good discussion as much as the next person, there remains one thing that's certain.

SUK say there's no rear mud flap option for the vRS - fact!

I thought just like you did that they would be okay, but I'm man enough to admit I was wrong, as they patently didn't fit 100%.

What would be nice is if some kind person did a check on the rear bumpers from a mk2 vRS, FL Octavia and FL vRS to see if they are the same. Wouldn't it be ironic if they were?

There's food for thought......

Mine fit fine thanks very much on the front and rear....however mine's not a FL. They're bog standard SUK flaps too from fleabay via a dealer in Scotland. There's no muck either...

When I ordered my FL vRS with front & rear mudflaps the dealer advised that SUK do not list a rear mudflap option. I collected my car with only the fronts fitted even though the dealer had ordered a rear set. The dealer explained that they had not fitted them because in their opinion if they had managed to get them on they would of looked ridiculous. I still have the mudflaps here (part number KEA 600 001) and after offering them upto the bumper I agree with the dealer. I have no doubt you could make them fit but I think there would be too much over hang at the outer edge, I think they would collect dirt and be far from a perfect fit.

The vrs still has a different rear bumper to non vrs models . They are both similar with them having the reflector strip but the fl vrs bumper looks identical to the non fl vrs bumper

The cheques are in the post Atty & allan1888!

No, please let me take care of that for you

So when you said:-

Just in case you hadn't noticed the FL VRS has the same rear bumper as a FL Octavia!!

It would appear banksie that it hasn't as the rear bumper is the same on a Mk2 vRS and a FL vRS (1Z57807421B) but different to both the Mk2 standard (1Z57807421) and the FL standard (1Z57807421F)

If you go to the trouble of refitting your rear mud flaps and adding the sealer to fill the gap as I mentioned earlier, then you may well save yourself a lot of hassle in the future.

so im taking this as no mudflaps fit the FL VRS rear ?

I have a pair of front and rear. Decided not to fit as the back ones stick out a fair bit. Just ordered some frim ebay to try. Ill keep u informed. I will be selling the ones i have shortly i think if anyone intrested.

When I ordered my vRS I got the dealer to fit front mudflaps. This they did and because they thought it looked odd without rears they fitted some to the back for me too. The fit between the bumper and rear inside edge of the mudflap is not perfect but the gap is barely noticeable and it certainly doesn't collect dirt. But then the car is washed very regularly.
