Ford pricing.

Featured Replies

Am I the onky one who thinks Ford is nuts with price increases of over 30% ( over £14k for a 1.25 Fiesta zetec). Are Ford shooting themsrlves in the foot?

Yes, yes they are!

its cos they are skint in loads of debt and trying to claw cash back....................you can get a twingo renault sport for less than a 1.25 fiesta zetec mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm no brainer

Has anyone ever paid list price for a Ford though? My father in law just bought a new Fiesta Zetec 1.6TDCi after getting offered an outstanding deal from Polar Ford. He did test a Fabia 3 but found it under equipped and agricultural (his words) and could not get much of a deal. No scrappage deal but managed to get almost 4.2K off the list price of the Fiesta. I must admit after driving it, it is very refined and well equipped and the styling is lovely.

Given that I wouldn't have a Ford given, it doesn't really matter.

I'm sure *someone* has , and then they were laughed at by friends and relatives.

On one hand the huge discounts available are a good selling point for ford - people are much happier thinking they get a 14k car for 10k than a 10k car for 10k , even if the original price was a work of fiction.

The downside is for company car drivers who are taxed on the full list price , or who's employers make them pick a car under a certain threshold - all of a sudden a Ford seems to be an expensive low spec choice compared to the alternatives.
