Busy day........

Featured Replies

Just been doing a bit of work on the VRS today! I've removed the headlights and managed to make them fit better (Depo aftermarket ones) & the sidelight bulb holders dont fit properly into the holes - So I've take a drill to them and made them just a little bigger. Now the sidelights fit correctly! I've also removed the Daylight marker lights from beside the foglights.

I've also finally started on my boot build by getting the powercable and the phonos all sorted out and in place. Typically the last piece of trim that I removed twisted and bent one of the leading edges (the inner cover on the B-pillar) Got all the basics bits in place along with a Kicker Box and Amp to give me some Bass while I build the proper system! Bought some sheets of 18mm MDF, already got the front components bought along with a spacer kit & a couple of decent Alpine amps. Just need to sort out a decent sub now!

Pics to follow!

Its amazing what you can do with a bit of MDF and a little ithought.

It sounds like you've done this sort of thing before.... :yes:

There's a useful part number for some maplins speaker cloth... :thumbup:

Somewhere in here-----> http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/139625-parcel-shelf-any-ideas/page__view__findpost__p__1747945__fromsearch__1

That's my attempt at a stealth shelf. Got to say I'm happy with it... :)

As for the cloth, It was very cheap! But not stocked in branches near me..

Bloke in store thought I was on something when I tried to tell him that they DO sell it. :yes:

I look forward to seeing what you make... :thumbup:

It had to be ordered into the store cut to the size I asked for. Took 2 days to come... No extra charge...

Peed me off though cos he was sooooo insistent that they didn't... bell end.... :D

Anyway, as a virgin user I found this stuff very easy to use and would recommend it for your install.

Already had a look at your parecel shelf build. Very nice job with the MDF.

Yeah - i've done a few installs before - but normally i'm paid for it! I'm going to ditch the spare wheel and put the sub box into the wheel well - make up a box with is almost the right litre-age - and going to port it through the carpet - plus have a Perspex sheet over the top of the sub so it doesnt get damage when I have stuff in the boot. I'm probably going to need a powercap too - maybe a 1 or 1.5 Farad one, hide it behind the false panel on the passengers side.

I'll photoshop an install design tomorrow and post up the pics of my idea!
