NEW Race map from Shark Performance - with free upgrade for STS users

Featured Replies

We are pleased to announce (at 22:45 on a Friday evening; Yes, I know, we need to get out more) the fruits of our most recent labour - the Race map feature.

The Race feature offers the ability to left-foot brake without the annoyance of the ECU automatically cutting engine power. This can be particularly useful for trackdays and autotests or for advanced drivers who prefer more control over their driving experience.

The Race feature is available with any of our 1.8T or 2.0TFSi maps and is also available for many other vehicles including the B5 2.7T RS4, the B7 4.2 RS4 and the R32.

We are offering this upgrade FREE to all our existing STS users, just call 0871 2211 281 or email us to arrange your upgrade.

Is this applicable to DSG cars as well Ben?

It's so far only been tested on a manual car Hedge.. so is that an offer? :D

Just curious. ;)

I think the principal is the same though.

Correct me if I'm wrong though but doesn't the car assume you have left your hoof on the brake and shut the throttle down. :)

Yes, that's what we've removed, which allows left foot braking without cutting the power.

The principal is indeed the same and as it's ECU controlled I am relatively sure the DSG won't cause any complication, but I am yet to try it.

Interesting! Not for me as I'm probably not a good enough driver :D

Man I hope dervs can be done at some point. Is it something that can be added as a bespoke item over & above an existing remap?

It's actually part of the map, and so it would have to go hand in hand with our software.

We're always looking at new things Jason, and although the diesel ECUs work in a different way, we'll look into it for you :)

It does work on DSG if Ben is doing what we do here, trialled on Luke's Mk5 Edition 30 DSG at a track day no problems, apart from some hot brakes :D
