K&N filter kit - worth it?

Featured Replies

Thinking of getting a induction kit , K&n filter worth it or not ?

Any recommendations .

No. Not in the slightest. Get it remapped job done.

terms of speed filters dnt do much but for "dump" sounds k&n is the best

A good panel filter can help reduce smoke if you remap or fit a tuning box espcially if it's a custom remap done with the filter in place. If I was remapping I would deffo get something like that, if not, I wouldn't waste the money.

K&n has also a panel filter

K&N panel filter...is the one that if over oiled can damage the MAF?

Standard panel filters are fine, pd160 intakes and k&n are pointless. Rather have a de-cat.

I installed a K&N Pannel filter whilst on a Rolling Road Day. I achieved a massive 1 BHP difference. I was told it would improve with time. From what I've read on here fitting one and a larger intake tube will not make much difference If you it remapped it will use these new these improved air flow figures.

I've just bought a Pipercross panel filter, advantages being they are washable, fit OE airbox and do not need oiling.

Technically, do you have to tell the insurers about OE box fitting filters like the pipercross? It's not an induction kit, or is it?

Just wondering, as "washable" sounds very interesting.

No. It's a replacement part. Like spark plugs or brake pads.

Have had Pipercross on for last 140K. No problems. Washed every 5K. Doubt that there is any power advantage when new/clean but nice to know always in good condition and never reducing airflow. If using paper ignore the service intervals and change more often; say every 10K.
